Would hope that both will be back for next Saturday
Hopefully just dont want rush them back if they aint ready.
@Andy_Petterson I’d love to know how you think a club like Barrow with their record isn’t down to good management ?
Have you taken this as a pop at Mat Sadler. I’ve actually been impressed with us and even though im not a fan I respect the work he has put in. I think your over reaction may be down to an infatuation with MS ? . Not sure it’s healthy. Good luck with it.
Today was just one of those days when we were well below par.
I’m disappointed but we’ll bounce back.
Still think it’s worth taking a free agent CB right now. Would give us a chance to rest 1 of our 3 CB while mcentee, daniels and priest are out. Injuries will inevitably get worse at this point. Didn’t see today’s game today but seems just like one of those days. Feels like we’re in a better place than last season squad wise. Like i said an extra CB is a must now
If this was our best starting eleven I’d be concerned, but we have so many missing players when we get them back i really believe we should be top 7 atleast.
Clearly, Hall will improve with fitness and need time to settle in.
From todays 11 i think only Allen,Stirk,Lowe and Barratt would be in our best 11.
We have had a good start despite injuries and futures bright.
It’s a good question actually. I was listening to a podcast before the season started and they said although barrow are an unfashionable club, the money they are spending is actually in line with a team that would be expected to challenge for a promotion.
Certainly it’s more plausible that’s the reason for their apparent success than ‘good management’, as they are currently managed by Stephen clemence who failed at Gillingham and whose good management extends to conceding goals in the 99th minute against a side that hasn’t won all season.
If anyone out there does know more about barrow I’d be interested to hear it.
Not at all, just calling out faux expertise from people who can’t even check the correct team is top of the league. Doesn’t help the forum.
I have no expertise in calling Barrow top of table , when I posted they were. Hindsight and ninety nine minute goals are wonderful things. My apologies to all
No problem, wasn’t having a pop at you.
Fact is they’re performing which is down to good management. You come up with some strange stuff. But I enjoy your posts. Keep them up
To be fair I was listening to the England game on five live and they announced the result as Barrow winning, I wouldn’t have bothered checking and took their word for it.
Management isn’t just the manager, I assume the Club are doing something right to be able to spend the money you suggest. Unless they are spending beyond their means of course.
They had to work hard to miss that last playoff place last season. I wouldn’t be surprised if they tailed off again at some point.
The spending of money and good management aren’t mutually exclusive. If they were Salford would have been promoted years ago.
Think your a bit unfair there Andy on there manager Clemence played at a pretty good level and also coached under a few good managers before taking his first job in management to say he failed at Gillingham also harsh finishing 12th .6 points of playoffs not bad I’d say for your first season in management sacked after 12 months .bit of credit surely .
Finished below Sadler so must be rubbish😉
Sounds familiar.
More clarity around what exactly is the ‘good management’ that put them top for a bit would be useful
I have no idea to be honest, I don’t follow football that closely anymore.
They are doing well now but we are 5 games into the season, I wouldn’t assume they will stay up there anyway.
If I had to bet, I’d say we will finish above them.
A decent start to the season despite today. Not a great performance but we could easily have nabbed a slightly undeserved point.
The squad is so much stronger than most of us expected that today felt disappointing. I’m thinking that this might feel a good season come May. UTS
On Saturday afternoons teams within the football league compete for 3 points. These are allocated to the winner.
If it was “that easy” everyone would do it. Or the formula could be repeated by any one at any time.
There was something (might have been Darragh Macabrhony or Simon Jordon) said about if you ranked “budgets” teams tend to finish 3/4 places either side of the budget spot in the league. I’d argue that’s the best judge of “good management”
Adomah looked so much more comfortable with the ball than our other players. He, and Maher, should start every game. They are a cut above the rest of the midfielders/wingbacks.
