I wonder whether Lloyd signing for Shrewsbury might signal Udoh leaving. Ryan Bowman still not fixed up yet after his release.
When I go on the BBC football transfers, it’s about 1 or 2 transfers a day. There are 92 league clubs yet some would have you believe that we need to start panicking like some kind of Dad’s Army episode.
Lloyd is an interesting one because his stats aren’t amazing but there’s definitely a player there. Ironically, he reminds me of Bradshaw before we turned him into a goal scorer.
Buying potential that comes good will define our season. Examples from the great Ray Graydon era were pretty much that.

I know we’re still so early into the summer and don’t want to start poking trivela with sticks already so a lot could change and they prove me completely wrong (but I do doubt it) feel like we got the wrong American owners when we compare them with Brad Gallinson at gillingham, he’s gone in there and genuinely I would say going for it, or at least appearing to back his manager with whatever funds are seen needed to be successful even last season but unsuccessfully, which ended in the manager being sacked. Wouldn’t it be great to be in a summer where we’re signing players that we could say we’re genuinely very very good in the same division or even above the previous season! I know we say money isn’t the be and end all blah blah blah which it isn’t ALWAYS, but let’s face it more often than not, does require a decent backing to some degree. There’s always the chance of getting relatively lucky and stumbling upon a promotion side but the chances are that much slimmer. You have even got chesterfield coming up and seeming to have got the bull by the horns and gone you know what we’re genuinely going to give this a right good go this season, I just don’t get that with us even with the little snippets of interviews and whichever else coming out (Now go and prove me wrong trivela and Sadler)

I think the only way we might go all spendy is if we can develop and move on a few for fees.
No doubt they will cash in on Hutchinson but with one year left the fee will not be great.

It put the fear of god up me when I read a month or so ago BB was saying we will be relying heavily on the loan market to boost the squad. The same policy that that fcuks us up in January that is
Gillingham clearly going to play with wingers having also signed Nolan.
Does that mean that their new boss won’t need Hutton as RWB?

Would be surprised if they let Hutton go after making a song and dance about stealing him from Stockport. He was also head and shoulders above others in L2 as the best assister from the right hand side when at Swindon so again think he will be part of their plans
Not sure how many of the 40 or so EFL 2 signings currently made by other clubs would actually be considered great signings by us. Considering age, fitness, and position played I wouldnt think its a great amount. Its still very early days, and many players contracts are still under review or still running. Lets not get too jittery until the end of June at least

It depends how they decide to play. I don’t think he’s been a fan of their system and found it frustrating

I don’t think our history regarding signings gives fans much confidence which is why we get jittery early on during the summer.If we had a history of signing good league two players in positions we actually need instead of shoehorning players from other positions into them we’d have a bit more confidence in the silence from the club.

Yeah I wasn’t having a go at you, sorry about that. I didn’t watch the video so am just going off your bullet points. Too much back patting gone on at our club for anything from mediocrity to absolute shite. Sadler joining in now. Some of our past great managers would have had much higher standards.
Last season was alright at a push, not good, definitely not great. Scraping in the playoffs is now our aim, not promotion. People can say what they want about my opinions, I have broad shoulders, we are miles off a promotion winning side, like really far off.

Has been for a while, irritates me at times if we win 2 or 3 on the bounce its like we have won the league.
Dont mind enjoying the ride and all that but it goes too far at times for me. Then again it works both ways cause sometimes people are going off the rails losing 2 or 3 on the bounce. And i say that as an emotional guy myself when it comes to football. Just need to learn to keep our heads.

We should be allowed to enjoy it, christ we suffer enough. Anyone within the club should just be focused. Can you remember Gradyon not letting the players back out to celebrate when we beat Stoke in the playoffs, because " We hadn’t achieved anything yet" Standards, I know it is a different time and all that but we shouldn’t be celebrating finishing 11th in Division 4.
I think I am just a grumpy old man now, too much stuff really annoys me.
