The Official Summer Transfer Rumour Thread - 2025 edition

As long as he helps make the whole more than the sum of its parts, then I’d agree.

*hit

Hence the delay in announcing Pressley most probably

At least it isn’t the same league if true Bags, can’t begrudge the lad the move, provided it is something he wants and isn’t the first club to shown him some interest. He goes with my best wishes and will watch him from afar, the rest, ain’t bothered about…

Although Allen was probably our best player last season, I actually think Weir has the potential to be just as good if not better in the LCB role. His dead ball delivery and forward play is on par, arguably better than Allen so I think he could match the assist level and if that goal line clearance against Notts county is anything to go by then with a run of games his defensive play might be better. £350k with some add ons and I think it’s a good deal for someone who has has 1 very good season at 24. He does 100% deserves a chance at a higher level though.

Wycombe got the cash nowadays, the spent over a million quid on transfer fees for 2 players last season.

I’m not sure about Weir, defensively. He get’s dragged out of position quite easily. I wouldn’t have predicted Allen improving so much though, so you never know.

Will be a big loss but the lad earned the move. Kept his standards high while others were faltering

They are a smart Club, Wycombe. Whatever they are doing, we should take a butcher’s.

Allen is one of our only players who deserves a big move away

As mentioned before, got to expect players to leave, that isn’t an issue for me personally, it is how and who replaces them that matters. So far, liking the look of players recruited, non league I know, but come with great potential and will hopefully surprise a lot…

If it were done when 'tis done , then 'twere well. It were done quickly

Does anyone know how Wycombe can sign a Danish player post Brexit? He is 27 and not an international.

Shame to see him go - all the best Tails

Indeed we should…One of our fellow posters coined the phrase ‘Smalsall’ and from what we have seen to date, Trivela are perpetuating that idiom. All the names being floated around by us is like believing in Father Christmas. We know that the team will be ‘bolstered’ with unwanted reserves, unknown untested kids, Scottish 3rd Division nomarks and fading journeymen.
We seem to be in a spiral of a losers mentality, where owt will do as long as its cheap.
Losing Allen will be a blow that we will find it hard to recover from.
The forwards situation, or lack of, is laughable, as was retaining Sadler in charge…why?

When players are going to the likes of Wycombe, Vale, and Bristol Rovers to make a step up, you have to despair at the way things are.

That shows how far we have fallen!

League 1 is a step up over League 2 (or was in the case of the Gas at the time). Pity some of said players couldn’t have done it themselves and got promoted to the league above by effort and not being bought or transferred there…

I like your posts, because no matter how down I am about things, I will never match you

Your last sentence, though, totally agree, especially the last part of it. Which is why I don’t have much hope for the upcoming season. Big mistake that will probably mean the season is wasted.
