Hopefully. Although if Matt signs as well, Stuttle, Pressley, Matt, Amanchi, Gordon and DJT seems a tad excessive.
I’d rather we sign players we do rely on.

Who knows, If he has been offered decent terms, it’s local and maybe he’s confident he’s guaranteed to start, fitness allowing
I can see us signing more than one forward on loan. That’s the big issue. In key positions we should have permanent players imo
Not sure on that, we courted him and waited a long time to finalise that deal, for him not to be playing regularly. Maybe we didn’t expect him to have the impact he did but I very much think he was signed to play alongside Gordon, with Matt playing a supporting role due to his age.
After Gordon got injured we had to rely on Matt more and we ended up where we ended up.
I don’t get the negativity towards signing a loan striker. We’ve done it over the decades I’ve been following Walsall. Premiership. Champ and L1 clubs do it. Lowe and Cleary brought in last season to compliment our strike force and one of them turned out fantastic for us. Could easily have signed 2 x Cleary type players instead. We lucked out with Lowe and hopefully we will do so with Stuttle if he signs.
It’s better to have had a player like Nathan Lowe than not had them at all.
All League 2 teams have loan players in key positions. In a sense, that is the point of loans, to have better players than you can usually afford so you might as well have them in the most important positions. Rushworth and Simkin were better than any keeper we would have had and what does it matter if they move on at the end of the season? A loan or two for striker is just fine by me.
I will believe George Hall signing when I see it but he is at least one division above our level in terms of quality and has real pace.
It’s the negativity of not spending money nor showing ambition.
George Hall would be a fantastic signing in my opinion, hopefully it’s confirmed soon
On the Small Heath Alliance forum too, so seems to be some truth in it Lukey
Yeah what can go wrong
I understand we have to use loanees, but 3 seasons in a row now a loan strikers has become our main striker, and have left in January, and three seasons in a row it has f***ed us over.
When you have a clear metric, like Goals, as a measure as soon as they start scoring the loaning club is always likely to call them back. Which means you end up with a catch 22. Either you have a shit striker you are stuck with, or a key striker you have to scramble to replace in Jan
I’m all for loanees, but I’m not sure starting striker is the position for it. And if they are not starting I’d rather the loans were used on other areas.
We already have Amantchi and Flush - if you add Stuttle and hopefully Pressley, we probably need one more. I would hope that would be a permanent signing - maybe even DJT, but Maher and Hall (if the rumours are correct) could also play as a second striker. I feel like a kid before Christmas, at the moment, I can’t wait to see who we are signing. I’d hope to see Pressley, Hall and Stuttle over the next few days, with Williams soon as well. Bring it on!
Nobody is denying that.
The big worry about the Stuttle loan is that he comes with less pedigree than Draper, DJ and Lowe. Very young and unproven. We may be glad for the January send back option!
Pressleys has scored 14 goals in 5yrs. What makes you think he would suddenly start scoring now. I’ve heard people saying he had a good game against us when we played Barrow,so what?
If Stuttle does come, he is very unlikely to be called back because he is doing well because he is with a PL club. It seems to me at 20 in a few weeks, he is unlikely to make the grade at Bournemouth, so I suppose it is possible they could call him back to sell him. He was called back from Aldershot last season because he was not getting games, so they sent him to Farnborough, where he did well.
Or Fleetwood, to play under Pete Wild again.
Completely irrelevant. Can be moved up a level.
Not sure if anyone’s following the twitter feed, but the media team are asking the players who they want to play in the first game of the season, mocked up like text/WhatsApp messages
What are the chances of them revealing a signing along the lines of “we don’t recognise this number” ?
George Hall is the sort of signing we want to see be pleased if it’s true.
This is walsall mate..we do daft things. I just think permanent forwards after what’s happened the last 3 years is what we should do. Feels madness to me using loans in that area of the team
