The un-Official Winter Transfer Rumour Thread

Reminds me of the Birmingham game, he’d just been subbed on, their defender ran past him and he made no attempt to run back.

If those rumours are re true, then perhaps Cleary has fallen foul of the ‘no nob-head policy’. Team togetherness is vital - and we’re reaping the rewards of a team that fights to help each other out - it’s part of what makes our team greater than the sum of the individual parts.

We must do everything possible to keep Williams, he is as vital as any player in the squad in my opinion.

I agree he is vital and we need to keep him. Also St Mirren would be a bizarre move on paper. Surely if he stays with us performing eventually Championship clubs will be sniffing? If he moves to Scotland the move back to the EFL usually seems to be League 1 or below a lot of times. Obviously money will possibly come into it but for me Williams is a key cog and can be a main reason to push us forward and do his own career the world of good.

Personally I think that would be such a sideways move for Harry. We really can’t let him go with the injuries we have in the CB department.

Can’t wait for transfer window to close I’d be far happier if we don’t loose anyone than if we sign someone

Never understand players going to Scotland.

It’s worse than playing in League 1.

Scottish football is probably a worse standard now than ever

I lived in Fife in the early 80’s and used to go watch Dundee Utd who were a useful side in those days but some of the games I saw weren’t exactly classics!!

Went to a Dundee derby once and I’ve never seen so much fighting at a footy ground - mental… in fact, the fighting was probably more entertaining than the footy (from a distance I might add…)

It’s more likely Trivela will buy St Mirren than Harry goes there

Be a daft move for him to go there, can’t see there being anything in it, nor would we sell him now unless he’s made it clear he won’t be signing a new deal.

Its not like its even 1 of the top 4 teams in Jockland - their basically the same size as Donny.

Getting Allen; Williams; Stirk; Jelis; Gordon; Matt signed up should be a priority. It will also be a lot easier when were mathematically up!

If you go to St MIrren and do well then you’ll probably be signed by Celtic or Rangers. Where if you’re ok it’s a job for life or then a move to Lower Prem/Championship back here.
Good career move but not so much for us.

A massive part of our success this season is H. We need to do everything we can to keep him here. Personally i think he can get a higher profile move at the end of the season. He’s got undoubted quality to play higher up the leagues

Ben has said several times, they don’t need to sell, if it is a crazy out of this world offer, different issue, but they will not be selling their key players cheaply. Jeff has left the building…

Or you struggle and wind up at Colchester bumping along the bottom of League 2.

Either way, he’d be crazy thinking the Scottish leagues were a better move for him that remaining the rock at the centre of a promotion-winning defence, with a chance to carry that form on in to League 1.

He should look 1 year ahead:

Go to St Mirren? Possibly be playing, off everyones radar.

Stay with Walsall? Could be top half league 1, getting scouted by champ sides.

I don’t think he will go to St Mirren, for all the reasons given. I’d expect a new contract to be announced shortly.

Adegboyega is a regular for Dundee United at the moment, which is an indicator of the level.

Williams can’t be that stupid surely??

Win the league , then better offer will come from bigger English clubs.

Possibility St Mirren get relegated this season too, can’t see it happening.
