Tranmere Rovers (A) - League 2 - Sat 24th August, 12:30pm

We been making the same mistakes for the last 3 years , it needs to stop or we’re going nowhere.

Sadler will think Matt had a great game, when in fact he missed a penalty and was the focal point of us playing into Tranmere’s hands. That was a tough watch.

You need to refresh your page.

To be fair, we have been bullied out of plenty of games like that in the past. Not today though. We can mix it with anyone in this league.
More to do with in game tactics and changes for me, plus the missed pen.
I find it difficult to criticise the ref tbh as it must have been a nightmare of a game to manage. Both teams were guilty of shithousery.

Nah that’s his job, and he was shit at it. If you can point out a foul for the goal at the end I’ll be amazed.

Hate using that as an excuse though. If you’re relying on the ref for a result you didn’t deserve it.

Ah, thanks.
That’s sorted it!

I did wonder what was going on :rofl:

Will delete my earlier posts.

No creativity whatsoever in midfield… we need a signing to change that imo. I don’t think Maher is ready for this level, Gordon showed once again that he is not the answer up front. Debatable substitutions , think it would have been better to get Mat off as he was going to get nothing more out of the shite referee. Overall a missed opportunity, you cannot squander a gilt edged opportunity in first 5 mins to get ahead and build, Jamma should never be on pens … pick anyone form Allen, Jellis, Barrett or even JG … we move on from 3 points lost and Farq out for another lengthy spell on sidelines. I would swap out Lakin for Earing, take JG out for Cleary, Lowe, or DJ (in next couple of weeks) , need to find a way to get Adomah getting his foot on the ball for a decent period of the game.

It’s happened to me before now, I’ve even responded to the wrong poster :joy:

No complaints about MS choosing the same starting XI today after the Swindon result.

It was his inability to make the changes (again) needed to get us back in the game. Whether by hook or crook. Jamma should of been pulled an hour in, if not before.

Bang average Tranmere side who offered next to nothing. Another one of those famous Walsall performances that piss you the fook off.

Onto the next one and i expect changes because that today, is on Sadler.

Referee nothing short of a disgrace today. Hope Sadler mentions it.

I agree it’s his job, but some matches are easier to referee than others due to how players conduct themselves. A lot of refs wouldn’t have given the pen, although it was right to do so.
Hard to see with the Earing goal as the defender has his back to goal and Earing was between him and the camera angle.
The whistle had gone before he stuck it in though.
I imagine it would have been a much clearer view from our end.

He will be clutching at straws if he blames the ref, plenty of issues closer to home for him to focus on.

For all the moaning it’s a different game and very likely result if the penalty was scored.

Just checked and Lakin scored 3 penalties for Sutton last season so easy decision for Sadler. Would also get his confidence up from an underwhelming start to his Walsall career.

Adomah also taken plenty in the past.

Feels similar to when we dicked Grimsby and we all thought it would be a platform to kick on but in fact we didnt win again for 5 games.

A continual trend since we landed here has been shooting ourselves in the foot just as momentum is building, but we are better equipped this season for sure, so hopefully we will bounce back quickly

Very poor result and performance

Tranmere had terrible injury problems and had a bit of a bunker mentality. They had a bit of fortune first half and just dug in.

Remined me a bit of our win at Newport under Flynn.

Hugely frustrating game for the Saddlers, we had a lot of possession but no end product.
The game was marred by poor video and sound quality which added to the frustration.
The penalty was a poor miss by Matt and really dictated the game from that point, we just couldn’t claw our way back into the game.
I was also disappointed with our lack of discipline when things weren’t going our way, MS needs to address that before it gets out of hand.
I thought Lowe did some nice work when he came on but to no avail.

I hope not!

One up at home at half-time and they play like that for the second 45. They played within their limitations and a weak ref let them take the Mick

And if he’d took control at the start, booked a few players instead of having endless chats with them even when repeat offending, maybe it would have been easier to control.

And the pen was the most obvious pen I’ve ever seen in my life. He’s got him round the neck.
