Tranmere Rovers (H) Jan 11th, 12.30pm kick-off

It might be the fog that’s forecast that could hinder the game, couldn’t see the far side or the far goalmouth the other week

Was it us who arranged the cover, or is it something Sky do for televised matches?

They didn’t organise it for Cheltenham last Saturday, so I assume it is something Walsall have organised.

I don’t think the decision is anything to do with it being televised, more so that we want to play the game now. We are in form and don’t want a be playing Saturday- Tuesday every week.

Pre all that we were poorly supported but granted half the time it was deserved

The towns massive (well wider Walsall) and the majority of folk just ain’t arsed unfortunately

If we go up we really need a jump in attendances, they’ve left us behind. I think we are about midtable in league two for home gates. Work in progress of course but these lads deserve so much more than 5,000 odd at home

I would argue it’s not rocket science to make a football team better: Bring in good players. Sometimes you chance upon good young players coming through at the same time, as we did in 1983. The really tricky thing is to grow the club, so you don’t lose the good players after they have been noticed (2016 anyone?).
Or, if you lose one you can replace with equivalent quality.
That is where we see a new Walsall. Signs are encouraging from the owners, hopefully the local populace will respond.

Or when they inevitably put the sprinklers on pre-match and it freezes.

Been around the town centre all afternoon, and never overheard so many folks talking about the football club for many a year. Not exactly buzzing, but certainly noticeably murmuring. Good to see the coppers getting stuck into the low level drug/gang scum that plague park street and the adjoining alleyways to the bus station after dark. Like folks taking an interest in the football club….about bleedin time!!

Well done the club on getting this game on (potentially). I guess as we were the only ones not playing last time round, we may be one of the only ones playing this week so extra effort to get the game on reduces backlog further down the road.

As for the game, hope we get some payback for the loss in the reverse fixture which was also a 12.30 kick off. From memory watching a very laggy stream in the locker, we deserved something out of that one.

Yeah, I think the game has just finished in there, we lost 1-0.

I hope our game is better than the tripe at Villa Park tonight. Too cold for the poor things?

Any updates on the pitch? I’m guessing they’ll leave that cover on for as long as possible but surely it’ll take a good couple of hours to get it all packed up.

They said in the update yesterday that it will be removed at 11am.

Ah ok mate nice one :+1:t2:.It’s hovering around -1° and 0° for most of the day so what happens when they water the pitch? I have to say that it’s been a monumental effort by all involved and I’m hoping they bring the people that have been involved on the pitch before kick off because if anyone deserves a round of applause it’s them.

Already done that one.

The good news is that the fog/mist is predicted to clear away by kick off.

Well done to the club for the efforts to get this game on. Let’s make it 8 in a row today now. UTS.

Get yourselves down to Bescot today folks! This could well be our last chance to see Nathan Lowe in action for us. He will definitely be recalled next week in my opinion.
My money’s on a goal or 3 for Lowey. If he goes, we need to wish him well. He’s been brilliant for us.
