Trivela Group Takeover

It’s not faux outrage. Don’t think I’ve claimed to be outraged once.

It’s amazement that people get so defensive about this and have clearly learned nothing about the statements that have come out of the club for the last, what, 15 -20 years?

If a leader says “we’re all in this together, we’re all such hard workers” the gullible lap it up and always have.

You do realise we had new ownership in the summer, right? :man_shrugging:t2:

Mentored by the same bloke whose been here for 10 years :man_shrugging:

But way to miss the point. I’m not saying that their aims are the same as the last 15-20 years. But if you haven’t learned by now to filter out the empty statements from people in a position of power by now I don’t know what to tell you.

Point? He’s not mentoring him on how to put statements out and not back them up. Ben Boycott is big enough and old enough to put his own out and know whether they’re empty promises or not.

No, you’re saying that you don’t trust a statement from someone who hasn’t been here for any of the last 15-20 years worth of statements :joy::joy: Laughable!

Pretty self explanatory I’d have thought? He still has influence, but you’re trying to tell me it’s a completely different leadership.

Thanks for demonstrating exactly what I said by pointing out where you missed the point. Like I say, everyone in positions of power do it. It’s not a Walsall Fc thing. Make statements that group people together with vague things about “all being in it together” and the gullible will rally around it, despite it meaning … absolutely nothing.

You’re clutching. Goodnight.

Nah, just stating facts. Night night

Come on mate!! Pomlette, other than finding Trivela, has been one absolute calamity after another - thats being nice - and still is now, given half the chance!

I will forgive the bloke because of Trivela, but lets not re-write history. Some of the absolute away with the fairies dirge that bloke has come out with - if it was on WFHYS we would all have been laughing…

We arent in a relegation scrap and we are looking at the play-offs was my personal fave while sat third from bottom before losing the next 3 and signing an injured striker to save us.

I can understand people being cautious tbf, but I see many qualities in Boycott and Trivela. The exact qualities that have been missing at Walsall, well, ever since I started supporting them. We need sharp modern businessmen in charge of what is now a modern business in a big industry.

I take this a little differently than Pomlett’s interactions and believe the sincerity of it and hope he is genuine. I like how he has continually mentioned steady, incremental improvements since he arrived, so isn’t expecting an overnight change.

I keep saying it, but time will tell and after the shit show of the past how many years, we’re all desperate for success, but we need to afford them time. I know the board are still there, but Trivela are new to the football ‘world’ as such, and they’d rather have people with experience (people will make their own judgement on the value of it) on the board, than an all new board with little to no experience in British football, especially at lower league level. Pomlett is there in an advisory capacity and overtime, his influence on Boycott may wane.

Regarding the to a fro on here based on whether he is being genuine in the open letter, I can see both sides to the argument. For some it is better to have a lower expectation, especially based on prior negative experiences, because if it all goes tits up you (possibly) won’t feel as bad. But on the other hand, then when you have fresh, new investment after years of decline and underachievement its hard not to buy into what is being said. It just means if it doesn’t go the way we all want it to, we’ll just have to develop an even thicker skin than the one we already have after years of supporting Walsall FC.

For me, i’m a little on the fence. After Hartlepool performance I was buoyed, but didn’t expect HMS piss the league. The performances since haven’t been the most appealing on the eye, but i’ve said since the back end of last season, if we can have a season where we don’t have to worry about the bottom 3rd of the table, are comfortably mid table, that will give us fantastic building blocks for next season.

I know I keep saying it and it is human nature to be impatient, but time will tell.

Well what do you expect? Trivela need someone who knows the club, the fans and the town inside out to help them settle in. It maybe really hard for you to grasp let alone accept but Pomlett knows more about this club than you ever will and yet you still speak about him as though he’s a program seller or something, and yes,I know, you have literally never called him a program seller :person_shrugging::person_shrugging::person_shrugging:.

This is the key difference between him and Pomlett. Remember when Pomlett said we were coming after Wolves, Villa, Albion etc. Boycott was quick to temper expectations as you point out. He knows to be successful every facet of the club has to be united and pulling in the same direction.

Absolute facts - embarrassing at times

I am at the conclusion, will never keep everyone happy, ever.

To quote this;

I would consider the following incremental changes…

Stadium improvements
Matchday experience improvements
The signings of: Knowles, Hutchinson & Evans (Riley, McEntee could fit in this bracket also) - All of which are young will improve and have potential for decent profits. Based on potential ability.
Revamp of Saddlers Club

Not to forget also, the work the club do in the community and for the fans, I.E - Ryan & Kieran etc. They are very much connected with the fans.

Id definitely consider that a marked improvement

Impatience will get us nowhere, wanting promotion & marquee signings and wanting it NOW, is unnecessary.

Keep the faith.

I completely agree.

In my sulky post after last week’s defeat, I acknowledged the marked improvements around the place.

The things they can control, they are doing well in my opinion. The coaching and playing staff’s current inability to manage a game of football isn’t Trivela’s fault. It will become their problem if it continues but we’re a bit away from that.

Totally PT - there have been improvements.
Time is required, this is a complete rebuild, not only of the team but a club as whole.

We need to play our part. Granted, the football has certainly been questionable the last few games, lets see how we shape up over the next 6, starting with a very difficult game today.

Out of Trivela? Not much. Out of the same old names, Pomlett Gamble and Mole? A lot more

Improvements on what we had really? Not seen anything to suggest they are better than Kiernan, Osedebe and Rushworth to be honest.

And whose mentioned promotion? Certainly not me! I was telling you this season was going to be shite months ago and was told I was being negative! Now I’m upset because my expectations of promotion aren’t being met?! Don’t think so. I just see no improvement where we actually matter, ie quality and depth.

They’ve done a fantastic job putting a couple of posters up round the place though!

I wanted to say at the time but never did because I don’t want to sound like he did it on purpose because I’m sure he wouldn’t have, but the players welfare came into my head that day.Even if you didn’t want to change things you probably should have just for the conditions alone.

Okay, bit of an @el_nombre witch hunt on here now  Not popular - but the absolute truth: during the 5 worst years in our history El_N has called it a lot more than any other fans on here, and he is right, many have said all the above many times about LP with little or no evidence to suggest he was turning anything around - quite the opposite!

Tbf although I am a little more positive and see potential in Trivela I still understand and agree with a lot of points he makes! They are all valid enough.
