W 1-0 vs Salford City (H) – Sat 23rd Aug, 12:30pm (League Two)

Blame the article.
I just thought it was an interesting piece.
But as the saying goes “there’s nothing ne under the sun”.

… I did:

Anyway

I’d love us to switch to a four, but I think Sadler is so wedded to a 3 at the back system I just can’t see it. To my eye, we have far too many defensive players on the pitch, and just like last season, rely way too heavily on our wing backs for any sort of attacking impetus.

Style of play and formation is set from above… so no change of shape. Flash and Elvis will be up top and replaced on the 63rd min with Uncle and Jamma. 3:1 loss with lots of boos and sadler out chants from the 4100 in attendance.

Let’s see.

Audience looks particularly sparse tomorrow and I expect will be subdued but no way will it be that low.

Is what I would go for, but can’t see it happening.

Should be ‘Kinsley’ really, by order of class.

I’d also go for something like that, but we’ve got no real options off the bench for the wide areas.

I still think one player who could play wide would totally change the make up of the squad and give us the option to do something like this.

No, because the squad hasn’t been built that way. You could push Jellis or Clarke forward though.

I’m just looking at what I think would be our most effective 11, or at least have the potential to be.

I don’t have a good feeling about tomorrow. I feel like we will be the wrong side of another narrow defeat. If we can get a good striker in before, then that could change things.

I expect to see something from some of the new players now. Warrinton, Hollman, Finnigan. They won’t all start but if we are going to do alright, they need to contribute. I’d expect Finnigan to start tomorrow.

Walsall 1 Salford 2.

I agree. I’m not rubbishing what you’ve said at all.

I just think that one extra body out wide would massively increase our options to move to different shapes.

Oh yeah 100 hundred percent. I also think it gives us a better chance of getting decent delivery into Pressley. There are goals in him with the right service.

We’ll be lucky to hit 5,000 tomorrow. The hardened regulars and 49 from Salford. Not confident at all after Tuesday and the Barnet 2nd half. At best we can get a 0-0. If Salford score first, then it’s 0-1. UTS!

That many from Salford

A defeat will no doubt see the manifestation of what most of us feared at the start of the season. Toxicity in the stands. We all know Sadler had to get off to a near perfect start this season and it’s been miles off getting anywhere near. Same old shortcomings from previous poor runs

Having said that, he always pulls off results when he needs them. But I just cannot see where goals are coming from.

Sorry but its another 0-1 for me

We need players who read Pressley’s flick on’s, Tuesday night he never lost a header and it was an absolute waste of time as there was nobody within 10 yards of him Hoofball magic at it’s best for no reward and he needs to play longer than 70 mins as Jamma’s finished and a waste of a sub

True, Jon Whitney had a similiar knack, though the current situation doesn’t feel anywhere near as unpleasant as it became with JW.

Read that he won 11 headers on Tuesday, he’s so good at it.

Needs somebody to link with. Hopefully the new guys will be. I think he’s better with his feet but we just don’t use him that way. Need someone who can turn a defence. Here’s hoping :folded_hands:
