We had a bit of an indifferent start, I remember a 0-0 at Chesterfield which was a bit of a bore draw, and then a loss at home to Carlisle, as it turned out they were both excellent teams.
From things that were said at the time, it wasn’t just about footballing matters, but I guess we’ll never know.
As I understand it, it was over a game of golf! Kenny told Jeff Bonser he was taking part in a golf day on the Thursday before a Saturday game. Bonser said no. Kenny played his golf and was promptly dismissed for being disloyal.
Mainly the style of play they have and them being at home will play right into our hands. We’ll end up with 30% possession but nothing we’re not used to.

Wasn’t that the season when MOC first played for us? I think it was also the season Jimmy Kelly played a few games for us at the end of the season. For those not around then, Kelly was a Paul Gascoigne lookalike, who was just as crazy; he was convicted of manslaughter a few years later.
Yeah that’s right, O’Connor on loan, he was bloody good, as we all know.
I think Kelly scored a nice goal at Doncaster last game of the regular season.
