W 2-1 vs Swindon Town (H) - Sat 2nd Aug, 3.00pm (League Two)

For a start he could have done the interview with WM instead of Comley. The reason he didn’t was because WM are not the media team and might have asked him an awkward question or two,and we don’t want to put him through that do we? I’m sure if you asked radio WM they would say that they asked for an interview with Sadler but we’re refused.

Technically true but it makes it sound better than it is when it is only two years!

Saying that, even though I thought he should have gone towards the end of last season and definitely after Wembley, not just because we lost but the manner of the defeat. I’ll still give him more time than some. I want us to do well, so I want Sadler to do well. I don’t agree with promotion or bust either, but we need to be competing at the top end of the table.

I think Swindon will be up there this season. Since Holloway took over they have improved considerably. I think they will win tomorrow. I really hope not, of course, I’m fancying a 1-0 away win. Kills me to say it tho’ :frowning:

Also just seen first game, which is on tonight, in L1 this season is Luton v Wimbledon and suddenly had this sick feeling rising up from my stomach…

Looking forward to tomorrow, hoping for a good performance. A half decent ref. Reckon 3 - 1 with elvis, stut and flint. Hancock for all 3 assists…

Hoping for a performance that rekindles my enthusiasm (spending less time checking out here about what’s been happening since UTS was invented). I’ve seen posts about moving on etc so Walsall 4 Swindon 1 & I might start the tentative process of moving on. That said if it were Grimsby away I would still go.

After the 3 kicks in the nuts last season (losing the 12 point lead, Bradford’s 97th min winner and the play off final no-show) I sadly have no enthusiasm to go to this game. I’ve never felt this way before on the first game of a season. I just hope it’s temporary as I have a ST again this year!

I just hope everyone does not over react if we don’t win… according to the bookies Swindon are placed 2-3 place above us in the final reckoning. I think tomorrow will be a real acid test against a promotion rival.

A couple of Aussie memes, one for each view point on the team…

Hope that helps everyone.

Same feeling, thoroughly enjoyed my summer with my family and having weekends without Walsall FC (or just any football tbh). It’ll probably change when I’m there but I honestly couldn’t care atm if we win, lose or draw tomorrow. I come on here out of habit and a sense of community but I still don’t really know much about who we’ve signed, I doubt I could even name the 11. I generally cannot wait for the start of a season usually.

If it weren’t for the season ticket then there would be no chance I’d be going but I feel some weird sense of duty I should go. Be good to catch up with folk tomorrow though so not all bad.

Totally agree. Hopefully a win and a good performance may stir some passion back into my support. 40 odd years on from my first season supporting the Saddlers this apathy doesn’t feel right!

Gonna be some right miserable bastards there tomorrow reading some of the comments on here :joy: (only jesting before anyone gets their arse in their hands)

Wish I was there with the lads, but I’ll have to settle for Saddlers +. Hope we’ve all got a smile on our face come the final whistle, and also hope you all give the inbred Swindle wankers plenty of grief :+1:

Won’t take long for the 12 or 15 points clear and you f**ked it up song to come out.Infact I’d put money on it happening in the street before we even get in the place.

Uncle Chopper needs to line his fake moustache up a bit better on the top photo!

But as we are Walsall fans, I imagine it will be us that starts it off :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

He did a lengthy interview with Mike Taylor so you are wrong on that. I presume it is on BBC Sounds now.

Agreed. I think its dicey for him first month or so but if he gets some good early results the pressure eases. It might be sink or swim. In the grand scheme of things he has earned 10 or so games for me anyway.

I still think he should have gone, but I’m not going to be petty about it. He’s here now, so may as well get behind it. The booing against Accrington was understandable to me, but I don’t see the point in crying every time we go a goal down at this point in time.

Correct. I dont think waiting/wanting/hoping for him to be gone is productive.

It’s daft really, we have no idea how long they will let him run before sacking him. We won 2 games in over 20 last season and he didn’t go. We could be in right trouble by the time they decide to act.
