W 3-1 vs Doncaster Rovers (H) - League Two - Sat 2nd March, 3pm

Long match thread. Then I see 50% of it is ‘is it still on?’

Great win

Should follow my heart more!

Well done Mat and the lads. Three more points of incremental progress!

Difference is when they scored ,fans lifted team and team lifted fans,we now dont fold and believe we will win.
Praise to Sadler and ciaches for rebuilding and finding way to change team after losing draper.
Crossing, corners and set pieces have vastly improved, for once can see how good coaching improves players and the team

Would agree for the most part. He allowed some leeway for the conditions, however, there were a couple of occasions 1st hour or so whereby their players got away with cynical offences which ought to have been yellows.

Hmm. I’ve heard my bro let off many times but I’ve never heard the rain let off yet :joy:.

Thought that too Belph, how Jamille kept his shirt on is beyond me, he was very physically manhandled at times I thought

No class from Faal, celebrating his goal like that.

Thoughts off the Doncaster forum. He was up our end and celebrating with our fans, d’oh! What else is he to do, say sorry and smack himself on the wrist? They deserved it anyway for what they shouted out to him when he came on as a sub.

Let’s just enjoy looking at the table ……. Especially with Barrow being at the wrong end !

Who says possession is important

Yes, it’s in the wrong order as it would’ve put us 2-0 up if it had gone in.

Looking forward to that game and giving it to them (wheelbarrow)

A reminder that Doncaster were one of the form teams of the division.

And the losses that Mansfield and Doncaster suffered in that form table were at our hands…

Great win.

Sadler appears to have stumbled on a team that plays without fear.

We are right in the mix for the playoffs and to say I’m surprised is an understatement. Hard to pinpoint what’s changed but there’s definitely been a mentality shift, we play like there’s nothing to lose now, whereas thinking back to the Barrow (A) game we were so cagey, it was like our lives depended on it.

That freedom of thought is leading to exciting attacking football, overlaps, neat triangles opening up space, late arrivals in to the box, you name it. The contrast from games in December is beyond my comprehension.

I always said this team had the quality to be much higher up in the table, and only mentality was holding us back.

, just glad to finally have a season where we are right in the mix at the right time. Long May it continue

He was better than expected has hes card happy. He proceeded to miss 3 bookings . Then as Doncaster imploded he reverted to the norm. Ended up being better than most especially when Liams dummy came out. Probably out of having a very serious injury last season. A crazy decision for motm though

Funny thing is if our strikers were better than poor league 2 players in the sense of finishing we’d have hit 3 or 4 more
For all their hard work Matt and Gordon are very poor infront of goal . Matt missed some easy golden chances again today
Goes to show how well we are doing as a team and if we had a draper we’d kill teams off even more
