Walsall FC to acquire Poundland Bescot Stadium

I was glad someone stepped in to move Jeff on and I’m glad they set in motion this change of events.

But make no qualms about it. From day one Leigh Pomlett neglected the “Football” part of Walsall FC. Now I’d like to think this was out of sheer naivety - But he put our Football League status in serious jeopardy.

I think it’s fair to say that the current structure, lack of youngsters coming from, lack of saleable assets on the playing staff sit at his door.

All in all I hope his time as Chairman can be remembered for this, because other than that he’s been a real danger to our football league status.

Our survey said! :x::x::x:

It will be owned by neither the investment company, or the fans, but be an asset of the club at that time.

I agree Sir Ken.I think getting DJ done sends the fans a real statement.Yes this is obviously big and the future looks brighter but signing a 1 in 2 striker(at present) really does show intent for this season to me personally anyway.

Well, i suppose it depends on the definition of “Long Term” & I certainly hope to be around to see WFC participate on the 2043 - 44 season…

It may not be in his hands

Lets hope you are right but nothing would surprise me in terms of Wfc

And the club is owned by an American Investment company!!!

Ohhh dear :joy::joy: assets of a business == personally owned property.

But if the problem with those dastardly American venture capitalists owning the club is them … well … owning the club then I’ve seen nothing from them so far to be concerned about to be honest.

The absolute worst that can happen is they improve their business (the club and its ASSETS) to sell it on for profit. Oh dear, how terrible :joy:

I still think NoFo are taking over the saddlers club.

I really struggle to get my head around the idea that Walsall FC may actually now be operating as an ambitious football club, with a genuine desire to build and improve on the pitch. I’ve become so conditioned to a club that’s happy to tick along with no genuine ambition other than turning a small profit and paying the rent, with the only hope of success coming through a fluke managerial appointment.

I just pray that for once we take advantage of good news off the pitch by playing well on it. There have been too many cases in the last few years where an off the pitch buzz has been dampened by turgid crap on the field. Let’s do better this time

Fair point in some regards but in others no, and im not saying LP has been amazing and knew from day one what was going on because he didnt but in between all that you must remember, he brought the club at one of its lowest points ever. He didnt come into a club with a brilliant squad and all things hunky dory he came into a full on mess and war zone left by uncle Jeff and poor manager decision by Uncle Jeff and his “team”… Giving the bloke (LP) has no extra knowledge into football than any of us (yes he was on the board but i bet his say was never heard over uncle jeff and his dog boys) so too come in be honest with fans, try too change the clubs direction and in just a few years be where we are now i say is upmost credit too him…I doubt hes made much if any money out all of this and i doubt it has not done his mental state very good but hes done it and most of it it seems for the love of the club which we all love too…

The doubt around trivela is OTT, we have no signs or anything too suggest they are about too do something other than grow our club and progress it too make it a more valuable asset and invest, is that not what happens when you wanna go up a level and be a bigger and better club?

Imagine having too question what is a huge plus turning point for the club, why not just ride the wave and enjoy it for once?!?!

I still can’t believe we now own our ground! This is a huge occasion for us long frustrated fans. Well done to all involved.:clap:

Leigh has delivered his promise and Ben/ Trivela Group are delivering on theirs. It feels like we are in very safe hands and I am genuinely excited for the future.

Here is a very interesting article about Ben Boycott and gives a bit more of an insight of who he is and the working of Trivela

For those without season tickets. Get behind the club in what will be an exciting second half of the season…

To be honest the more we discover about Trivella the more solid it seems, having said that I am by nature a glass half full guy , but it’s difficult to imagine they have spurious intentions.

Indeed.
This is what I was referring to further up the thread.

Ken Polk, the other main man behind Trivela, is also the Chairman of the Board at Vapor Ministries.
And Mason Crosby was previously on their board too.
Boycott is also part of Sovereign FC that are looking at cultivating football connections in the 3rd world.

It seems their interests lie in much more than just investments and extend to altruism and building communities.

I agree Boycott and Co are a very interesting group of people.Their evangelical type of Christianity is not something that appeals to me but clearly they are motivated by it to do some good in this world. If they are true to their word then Walsall FC have been very lucky in acquiring such owners. One must also pay tribute to LP for finding them and convincing them that this Town of ours is worth the investment. It needs it badly.
