Following on from the excellent thread on foreign players to have played for the Saddlers, as a Northern Ireland Saddler myself, I’ve tried to remember players who have graced the hallowed turf who have represented Northern Ireland at some level.

** Bambrick although well before my time is still a legend here as he still holds the record number of goals scored for a Home Nations player in an international (6 goals v Wales in 7-0 win in 1930.

It’s a pretty unbalanced side but at least there’s a bit of firepower.

Always be a hero just for the home performance in the cup against Leeds in the 90’s.

A Northern Ireland scout watched Holden earlier in the season (September/ October time). I hope they have watched him since his form has drastically improved.

You would think he should be in or around the squad sooner rather than later. Probably needs a few more goals for it to happen.
