I’d love threads to stop descending into rubbish puns too.
Unfortunately that’s just a pipe dream.
I suppose a new manager will roll up eventually though he will probably put somebody’s nose out of joint.
The margins between success and failure are often paper-thin…
Perhaps the mods could slap warnings (Puns can seriously damage your health etc) on threads like this so that the unwary are not placed at risk?
