Instead of group winners, perhaps the group losers might be more fun, as then the people with some grotty team of make-weights, for example England LOL, also have a bit of interest. Otherwise someone gets some shithouse team like Panama or Costa Rica (not sure they’re even in) and the interest is effectively immediately over.
