Wrexham Game

The hype wont die down, they will be backed by a stronger fan base than most league two clubs well into the end of the decade. Success builds fan bases and they also have that new stand to fill when its built.

Their presence in League Two elevates the prestige of the division and I think they will find the Championship about the right level for them.

I have it on very good authority Wrexham will have a camera crew for a documentary in attendance si i’m guessing here but the owners could well be over

Don’t forget we were the first team Wrexham beat back in league football Aswell so we are a part of their exciting history !

I’m more baffled we have only given them 2600 tickets.

In the Maximising revenue age and all that…

I always think we should make more use of the block and a half at the motorway end of the main stand to house more away fans.

We’ve always reverted to shifting our own fans out of the family stand when we think the away fans might bring a few but the away end plus half of the away stand plus the block and a half in the main stand equals around 3,500.

Keeps them all at their “end” too.

Been a bug bear of mine for years that football fans miss out on games they’d like to attend when there are thousands of empty seats at that game. And I love it when there is a big away following. Makes for a far better occasion than the days against Crawley, Forest Green, Harrogate etc.

You’d think it would be something they could accommodate.

Particularly as there have been several games this season where the away crowd was so small they kept the away end shut and put them in the end block of the main stand anyway.

I’d expect that Wrexham could sell 3k plus for this game.

Well they sold the 2,600 very quickly. Not even sure that them up to the half way line of the family stand.

Give them 3,500 then 5,500 Walsall fans makes it a great occasion. And still over 2,000 empty seats.

I can’t ever remember Wrexham bringing more than about 500 to Walsall, usually less.

I don’t care how many of them come, let’s send them back miserable.

It reduces the facilities available to home fans in the most expensive part of the ground. I don’t think they’ll do it again as there were issues.

We should be advertising this game more so people of Walsall and the wider West Midlands know it’s on so more have the chance to see Wrexham
Like a lot of neutrals may come to this one if there teams playing away and some non football fan film Lovers may attend
We should milk this occasion for all its worth while we can

But with current restrictions you need a booking history.

It’s all a bit odd.

Looks like all the Midlands teams are playing at home on the Friday and Saturday.

Birmingham v Bristol City - 29th Dec - 19:45
Coventry v Swansea - 29th Dec - 19:45
West Brom v Leeds - 29th Dec - 20:15
Wolves v Everton - 30th Dec - 15:00
Villa v Burnley - 30th Dec - 15:00

Even the non league teams are at home…

Kidderminster v Boreham Wood - 30th Dec - 15:00
Rushall Olympic v Tamworth - 30th Dec - 15:00

It’s any booking history over the last 5 years so you’d expect any Walsall fan (or mate of a Walsall fan) will be able to get one. Wrexham have already sold out their allocation so I guess it’s not been opened to just anyone to prevent their fans getting in amongst our fans.

Thing is we put these up for sale for Walsall fans a month before Wrexham’s.

Anyway, just boils my piss a bit that there will be 4,000 empty seats and yet people were excluded.

We sold out our allocation for the game at their place. They didn’t give us any more.

If there are Walsall fans (even casual ones) who want a ticket but not yet got one, then I’m sure they will be able to without any problem - and without risking Wrexham fans getting into our end and any trouble kicking off.

Not the same team we faced early on they have adjusted now and stopped leaking goals do well to get a result in this one.

It’s been done twice this season and made for a hugely negative “fan experience” for the poor buggers paying top dollar in that section of the ground.
