Zak Jules also on his way?

I’ve heard that Walsall demanded 7, yes 7, packets of Scratchings from Pompey for his services…outrageous in this day and age don’t ya think!

Lets hope the days of being bullied around by other clubs is over.

Well if the stance that was taken over Elijah is the benchmark for future discussions we won’t be pushed around, fair play to the club for that happening by the way sterling work fingers crossed that wasn’t a one off.

This is a list of our top ten transfer fees for players we have sold. Interesting that none is in the last 20 years. I think 8 of them had Walsall as their first English team, although Peron and Boli were established French players.

That’s way out of date - Deeney, Paterson and Rico at least should be in that list.

Laundryman’s having a senior moment by the look of it.

Yes, you are right. Apologies

But all three are in the same category; they all started with us. There is also Fryatt, Dann…

It is rare for us to buy a player from another league club and sell them for a big fee.

Just being lazy about the ststs.

Agreed.

Wasn’t Bradshaw about 750k in the end so he’d be more than most on that list aswell.

Yes, he is a rare exception. Danny Fox, too and he also made his English full debut with us, although he was with Everton.

Still remember that day Dann & Fox got sold on :sob:

We lost quite a few loyal fans over that treacherous act :anguished:

Just tell them you allowed for inflation on those older transfer fees :grinning:

WFHYS users are upset Jack Zules could be leaving us.

Buckley’s 175k transfer to Blues would be 905k today according to Bank of England inflation calculator.

We paid exactly the same amount to buy him back again a year later - probably with exactly the same banknotes in exactly the same envelope out of Ken Wheldon’s back pocket!

I believe it was a sock.

Might have needed a pair for the Buckley wad.

At least subsequent owners have been more elegant on their tax efficient transfers of cash out of the club.
