I never got that as a kid unless I was in the Junior Saddlers. My Season tickets were my main Christmas presents from when I was 12 up to 16.
Id argue its better for kids these days and as a weekend event 2nd only in value to National Trust style stuff.

My example was as a child I was able to watch Walsall at home and on Saturdays when we were away, then I could go to Villa, Albion, Blues or Wolves (it usually depended which schoolmates were going to a game).
I understand that it may be good pricing at an individual club if you get a family ticket or a season ticket.
But you can’t just rock up on a four or five games a season basis at Villa Park or the Hawthorns on Saturday and expect £5 tickets.
Yeah fair one, I understand a lot of bigger clubs look to retain season ticket numbers or reduce them if demand is high enough.
I wonder if we will ever get to 5k 6k season tickets we may naturally begin to introduce a waiting list, it would probably then increase prices for kids and reduce concessions.

I guess if we ever come close to selling out other than on a very occasional basis, then the club will look to maximise revenue.
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your viewpoint) that’s unlikely to happen in the forseeable.
I am shocked that there are still people delivering papers, I rarely read one nowadays.

Swifty squad (under 12’s) had a free season ticket until 24/25 season, now they are charging £23 which is refunded at £1 per game. Juniors are £92 but you get £4 per match you attend

Well despite record broadcasting income only 4 EPL clubs posted a profit in the last full season all financial accounts were available for (22/23) so i think there’s your answer.
Very true my son in - law a bluenose for 45 years had a nice seats two (season ticket holder) had them years .they’ve just turfed him out and converted his old seats to premier corporate or something he’s fuming been offered crappy view at10% discount for a season.he aye happy .
