25/26 Season Tickets

I will say this, if we were to win the next 3, we will break the internet with orders after the Vale game, now that would be the Walsall I have been watching all these years.

I get your point now.

Football is funny like that.

A bit like Cheltenham away, felt like a defeat the way it happened, but if we had scored two late goals to get a draw, you come out of the ground buzzing.

I’m not sure being in League One would be a defining factor for me, you are probably signing up for a season of struggle. But the disappointment if we don’t do it this season would be very hard to take. I already have that sick feeling in my stomach. I’ll still be back next season, regardless, but I don’t know anything else after this many years.

I’ve renewed but if we do cock this up - I’ll never forgive MS for wasting what was an absolutely brilliant opportunity to get out of this dog :poop: division….

That is really why I can’t/won’t at this point. Reality is we are top and should not be throwing it away.

Come Belph. We all know if we were 5/6th on a good run with players tied down there’d be no questions on renewal.

But we are watching a Mat Sadler capitulation shit so special limping over the line !!!

I’ll make my decision on mine on the 5th

Logic is I don’t mind paying a premium for L1 footy I won’t watch L2 week in week out again travelling here there and everywhere.

Really hope the club fully understand the seriousness of this going wrong!
Sure they are…or am I.

Would be interested to know what the initial uptake has been given current form.

If there focus was on Walsall not turning the Drogs full time or starting things on the right foot in Denmark it might have been a strong window. It’s never an opinion that’s been received favourably on here - but I’d like to think as the Windows impact plays out it’s more understood.

I’m leaving it til the last minute to decide. If we fail this season then there really is no hope. My daughter said she has given up as in the last 20+ years of supporting Walsall we have never achieved anything so if we blow this what chance is there in the future? Given the fact most matches are moved for television now, I’m not sure if it is worth it.

Watching it on the television is a very poor substitute for being at games. I take your point that it will stop some fans from renewing but nothing beats the atmosphere at games. The chatter amongst the fans, the banter between sets of supporters the comments some of us fling at the officials and the team. That is what football is about for me…not sitting in front of a screen alone or with one or two others. I accept of course for those fans who live far from Walsall the TV is good and better than radio or nothing at all.

The advantage the Tele has is I can switch off if the tension is too much or performance rubbish. I then keep my fingers crossed hoping for a win.
Also in the middle of Winter, sitting in a warm living room, free food and drink as opposed to rip off prices and being absolutely freezing, hmmm! Having said all that I’ll probably renew then question my sanity.

The atmosphere at games

I have to say that did make me laugh.

Even when we 12 points clear at the top the crowds were still the same and the OAP stand like a doctors waiting room. Bradford had 23k crowd yesterday.

The only reason to attend the game is for a beer with mates and catch up but even then I know a few that watch games in the boozer together now.

SKY has killed it and the next generation of supporters are not gonna be as hardy and loyal.

You have picked the clear outlier here. If Salford were up there, as we did when Forest Green and Crawley have been up the top in previous seasons, we would be saying how its a shame its not a traditional club with a bigger fanbase enjoying success

As I have said we have fallen away crowd-wise because other clubs have built whereas we were regressing under Bonser and then the Bonser Babes, but I never feel comfortable critising those that do go. The atmosphere has actually been commented on positively by a number of opposing managers this year

The sad reality is that it’s really non existent any more. 90% of home games you’re starting at 3 empty stands with an average away following of about 200. Any atmosphere at bescot mainly relies on decent away support but this is the reality country wide. Best you can hope for at home games is some winning and/or entertaining football and since the new year, we’ve had neither.

Aren’t footy crowds (broadly and generally, up?)

Also, I don’t know with any certainty but I’d imagine the average away following is a fair bit more than 200…

I appreciate that the likes of Salford and Fleetwood etc would drag the average down a bit but got to be more than 200

I don’t think the atmosphere at Bescot is as bad as it is made out. Okay it’s not exactly bouncing but there is usually some attempt to get some songs going. At Vale I don’t think I heard a single song off their fans, Nott’s County banged a drum without anyone joining in. Chesterfield was fairly quiet too.

It could be better. We can all do our bit against Wimbledon Saturday.

I’m bringing big energy with me on Saturday.

The middle tier will be singing.

All we can do now is look forward.

We can look back when we know our ultimate destiny this season. We can have the enquiry and finger pointing if it all goes tits.

But now it is an eight game season and we are where every other side would like to be.

Up them reds eh!

Same. Will get my boys pumped up, not that they need it. Give it our best, that is all we can do.

I reserve the right to have a moan on here after the game if needed.

I never have a drink in the house, but my wife bought me 4 bottles of cider some time ago now. I said I’d drink them after Walsall’s next win to celebrate. Feels like they will be out of date before I get the chance. I plan on drinking them on Saturday night. Walsall FC.

Its a myth that mate, its just a fact all around the country. Aways ends are bouncing the home end is quiet. Its just the way football is now unless something happens.

That being said a few months ago ive not heard the bescot like that in years. A proper good old roar, an old fashioned ā€œsuck the ball inā€, would love to see it return rather than the frustrated moans (me included) .

Yes mate.

There were some good bits yesterday.

If we win on Saturday, the belief levels will go 180.

We need that win so much.

It’s rarely been loud and proud since we built the upper tier. Much preferred the old terrace. We used to make a right racket under there :clap:
