When you you look at that team and what we have now it’s heartbreaking .
Cheers. Glad you enjoyed it
It’s a brilliant well made book and a fantastic idea (a real page Turner ) and worth every penny.I hope you have every success with it mate.
Just finished reading this book . A great read it is too and a must for all fans who followed that remarkable team. Thanks Simon.

Happy Birthday Belphs
Really enjoyed the book as it brought back some great memories from the time while also filling in bits that I didn’t know about. I would have liked to have seen more photos from the season. Jealous of all those who went to the Arsenal match but I’ll always have Rotherham, Anfield …and this season’s trip to Glanford Park. Thank you Walsall, you keep my feet on the ground.
Interesting to see all the moustaches.
Just ordered it, looking forward to reading it.
Glad you enjoyed the book. Not sure this season’s trip to Glanford Park will ever feature in a future book about Walsall, or any of this season for that matter. Let’s hope next year gives us something to remember…
I reckon Liverpool had even more moustaches than Walsall. Must have been a requirement to get in the side. Thanks for buying the book. Hope you enjoy it
I hope that we don’t desperately struggle (again) next season and you have to write a sequel; 90 Minutes From Eastleigh.
Read the first two chapters on the beach today. Was chuckling out loud about what a tightarse Wheldon was. We all knew it but the first hand accounts by the players confirms it.
Enjoying the walk down memory Lane so far
Just ordered this for the old man for Fathers day good?
Great read from a special time.
He said it’s a brilliant book mate and I’d say you’ve selected the perfect Father’s Day gift
It is a brilliant book and great to relive memories. It’s also interesting to read the players’ thoughts about things. The Wheldon / Buckley showdowns had me laughing. Well worth the money
Bought this when it came out but saved it for holiday reading. Excellent book. Brings back so many memories and nice to read the player’s insights on that period in Walsall’s history. And then read Walsall’s greatest - Tony Richards and the Saddler’s Glory Years. All happened before I was born but another great read about another fantastic time in our history. Recommend both books to all Walsall fans whether you remember those times or not.
Both books are included in a list of Walsall football books featured here:
