Lovely blog by Evo.
I’d been to Wembley, Molineux and The Hawthorns before making my spectating debut at FP as a ten year old, and it was love at first sight.

Very good that….

Some of those images are stirring emotions this morning… the steps into the Street End where I first ascended aged 11 vs Blackburn Rovers will never leave me….

Cheered me up on this gloomy Sunday morning (football wise…)

Where my journey began. I can remember walking next to my dad and my two older brothers behind us going to my first match. It was a magical experience for the eight year old me all those years ago. There was something about fellows park that even when it was raining it didn’t matter, even on a cold winter’s afternoon you could stand in the bog and warm your feet in other people’s urine.

So many memories. As a teenager I’d managed to lose my ticket voucher for a home game with Bury. Didn’t realise till i got there on the Football Special bus from blakenall. Ended up watching the game on the railway bridge on wallows lane. Commited to the saddlers cause..or mad as fcuk. That’s how watching the saddlers got me at fellows park. Once a streetender always a streetender

It was never raining. Always bright sunshine, at every single game.

It was never cold! I’ve already told you, bright sunshine always.

I used to stand in the corner of the enclosure and I can see Pat and Robert who still go home and away now. It brings back some good memories.

As a kid I used to play in a Saturday premiere league our home match’s kicked off about 2pm or just after at Pleck Park used to make a mad dash to Fellows Park to get the last 10/ 15 minutes if they open the big red gates early to let the crowd out never a good sign if people were coming out when we got there meant they we’re losing.happy days and memories.
