What’s with all the pal stuff
I get that he started with the same team today, for the obvious reason(s) you stated.
But i think it comes down to being a bit more flexible and having a plan b or c that he can turn to a bit quicker if it isn’t working. A number of people have saud that accy worked us out, played deeper and let us have the ball, barrett and stirk had quiet / poorer games. But still it was earing for lakin in the 60 something minute and DJ getting 5-7 mins at the end. Why not bring adomah on for barrett then, or DJ on for lowe, who some said wasn’t at his best after 60-65 mins? Maybe he’d have put that 1 on 1 away that lowe didn’t. Or maybe he was happy settling for point.
I reckon we may well see a few changes to the starting 11 next Sat against Bolton. Some could do with a rest and arguably the league is more important already.
Drop Stirk and Lakin.
Not L2 quality.
Hall, Comley, Adomah and Maher different class.

No he runs a lot but the ball just bounces off him most of the time maybe harsh but i find him very frustrating.
I’m with you on Lakin but not Stirk we need him and Jellis as two hard working midfielders but we don’t need 3 like that which is almost what Lakin is as well I’d be starting Earing over him hes one that hasn’t impressed me so far.
Although Barrett wasn’t at his very best today, I thought he was still the most likely to create a goal for us, they were very worried about him, he still caused them a lot of problems in the second half. I’m not saying bringing on Adomah would have been a mistake but I can see why he left Barrett on. Same for Lowe, he looked the most likely scorer. He missed a couple of good chances but that’s the life of a striker, if he buries one of them then he is the hero. Getting in the positions is always the hardest part.
Also, Earing for Lakin does seem like a scripted change, but today it made sense, Lakin was quite poor and didn’t have much effect on the game.
I’d like to have seen DJ for a little longer, but in all honesty we were well on top for the last 20 mins and looked like we could win it. It wasn’t to be but you will get days like that.
Understand peoples desire to see a changed starting lineup but, when we had Hall, Comley, Earing and Adomah on the pitch against Carlisle it started to go pear shaped. We have a decent starting 11 but making major changes weakens tge side and kills the fluidity we have in my opinion.
I agree though that we need a plan B for when sides sit back and challenge us to play with the ball.
All points count on the March to 83 only 57 points from 33 games required. (83 points achieved promotion 6 out of the last 10 seasons)
16 wins
9 Draws
8 Defeats
We’ve got this - Believe
It wasn’t funny the first time you said this and it still isn’t now.
I always thought he liked stirk tbf
If we went from this point now with last seasons results for the next 33 games, having looked at @Semaj graph, then we’d end up with 76 (if my maths is right). So if we can win a couple more than last year before December then all we’ve got to do is match the form post the Alvecurch cup win. Doddle.
Maybe if Matts shirt was held together with velcro? It would help refs to detect the shirt pulling that us blatantly obvious to everyone else.
I thought they was possibly the worst side we’ve faced this year, the ref didn’t help like others have said
I don’t think the side needs any type of overhaul. Why would it? We’re second with a game in hand.
For me, yesterday was about patience. If we’d have kept our heads better in the final third we’d have won that with a winner in the last 15 minutes having earned the right in the previous 75 minutes.
Very young team. Eager to win every game 4-0. Which is ace. But this is the fourth division. Some days it’s gonna be ugly as hell. You just need to dig in and stay calm. Then, like yesterday, take a point, a clean sheet and move on. We’d have lost that in most previous seasons at this level.
Good post. Having seen the highlights DJ was very unlucky with that shot at the end.Things like that happen in games. We take our point and move on.
Indeed. Had the ball clipped the defenders’ other ankle it would have diverted into the goal rather than out for a corner
I feel like DJ is an underrated tool in the box. Perhaps not for the fans who still hold him in high regard. This isn’t really criticising Sadler, I made a post earlier saying how I thought his subs were sensible yesterday, but perhaps give DJ a bit longer to make an impact instead of here is 8 minutes or whatever it was to find us a winner. 15 minutes at least. He isn’t going to run in behind like Lowe can but when a team is defending deep like Accrington were, any balls in and around the box he always has a chance of sniffing a goal out, as he almost did with that half chance you are talking about.
Surely RAM is the player we need when teams sit deep with men behind the ball
Maybe, but he has looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights a little when he has had a chance so far.
Usually if you are trying to break a difficult team down, stretching the pitch as wide as possible is the way to go. Quite difficult on a pitch as narrow as Accrington’s. Would be an interesting idea to be able to go to a back 4 and have Adomah and Barrett down the right in certain game situations. That is just a fans idea and not something Sadler would consider.
To be fair we had the chances to win the game as it was and just didn’t put them away.
