Accrington Stanley (H) 26th April, 3pm

We haven’t won a game in 13. It’s been over two months since we last won a game. We broke a club record this season winning 9 in a row. How does both runs happen in the same season, it is just unfathomable.

That team selection comment is a quick way to alienate everyone who didn’t make the squad. Clear implication that anyone not on the subs bench today hasn’t been giving their all for ‘the group’.

Much better questions from WM this week aswell.

We have played some really awful teams as well. Gillingham twice, Newport, Carlisle, I guess at least we beat MK Dons and Morcambe.

We have had to do something special to blow this.

Thanks mate. What planet is that bloke on :joy: where have I said I won’t be going next season?

I’ll still be going mad about Macca in midfield don’t you worry :joy::handshake:

I told my mate that we were practically promoted at the end of Jan and said “we would have to do something like get less than a point a game, surely even we aren’t capable of that.”

I almost blame myself for daring to dream of a bit better than awful. live and learn and all that

And the two wins we did get before these games , took until quite late on to score past Morecambe and only when they were down to 10 men and Chesterfield, who we very, very easily could have been 3-0 down at half time.

Mate, I built it all up for the kids. I just couldn’t see a way we could become so bad we could mess it up. When we beat MK the game after Lowe went back, I thought that was it. It was crazy on the train on the way back, everyone singing and the kids were loving it. I said to them, “these are your days, I told you they’d come”

What an idiot I was.

You say that but we were 2-0 up against Cheltenham with 90’ on the clock and failed to win. That was where it all fell apart. I know looking back in hindsight is easy but I could write a whole dissertation on this season post January. I haven’t seen anything like it.

We’ve just lost the ability to do the basics. Corners, control the ball, cross.

The Argentine tango Allen and Adomah did over each free kick today :face_with_peeking_eye:

They say that you are only ever as happy as your saddest child and there were thousands of unhappy children there today so their parents suffering tonight.

Sadlers position is untenable.

Come on Boycott don’t fall into the trap of alienating your fan base. Do that deal tonight and move Sadler onto Shrewsbury for next year our gain their loss. Give our new manager maximum time to rebuild for next year and pay some contracts off.

There’s no hiding now the ‘let’s wait and see what happens’ strategy is done.

Walsall till I die

you weren’t mate. I was doing graphs where we were projected 101 points in the middle of January. I thought that after all the years of crap we’ve had to put up with in the last decade that this was the season we got our reward. As PT said in another thread, you could have done a paid challenge to say, “right, make sure this team doesn’t get promoted but no one has to know you’ve deliberately done it” and I’m sure they couldn’t have done as bad as this.

Afterall this we’ll somehow get promoted at Crewe or the playoffs and I for sure to god hope that we do.

Had a quick look at the games in which DJ came on to score late on for us. By my reckoning he has gained us 4 points in doing so. Had that not been the case we would be on 70 points with Wimbledon and Salford and be in 6th, with Grimsby and Chesterfield still able to catch us. He should have been on the bench today.

It’s difficult to put into words how I feel at the moment. I suppose it’s a mixture of embarrassed, angry perplexed and whatever else comes to mind.
As far as today goes it was pitiful to watch.
I hoped we wouldn’t get Matt and Adomah as a pairing and when I saw that’s what we were starting with my heart sank.
We seem to have lost the ability to score and the defence looks a pale shadow of its former self.
Individually I thought Liam Gordon needed taking off at half time because he looked drained.
I never boo but can fully understand why people did. The support has been magnificent throughout the season and gates have increased but it won’t stay that way with what’s being served up on the pitch.
The failure during the transfer window will haunt Ben Sadler for some time to come and Trivela seriously needs to focus on Walsall fc instead of sodding off round Europe building a portfolio.
Finally I’m sure Mat Sadler is a decent person but the experiment has well and truly failed and although I don’t expect him to be sacked there’s absolutely no doubt that the clock is ticking.

Just home.
Angry and disappointed.
We were inept and clueless.
Not sure what they do during the week but you don’t need coaching to play like that!
You could have selected any 11 at 2pm and they would have done as well as the team that played.

We’ve now played the same formation, plan B, twice and failed to score.
The only players who looked capable of scoring were Matt, Hall and Chang and he took them off! The game was lost when Sadler made the substitutions.

Does anyone think Levi is capable of playing as a lone striker? He didn’t play for Bromley for a reason! And when Harrison came on, what difference did it make?

The only sub who made an impact was Jellis, who at least tried!

Can someone explain what role McEntee was playing? I thought he’d been selected to drive forward with the ball, but he seemed to predominantly play somewhere between Asiimwe and Big Dave in his own half - completely ineffective.

I always thought we should give Sadler the chance to put things right, but he’s proven incapable of turning around a bad run. We are getting worse and it is in the best interest of the club for him to step aside, either voluntarily or with help.

Give the job to Richard O’Kelly and Darren Byfield until the end of the season.
They could use next Saturday as an opportunity to get their ideas implemented before the play offs.

And the 1st names on the team list next week should be Allen, Chang, Hall, Weir, DJ, and Lakin.

On a positive note, I enjoyed the locker.

Danny Johnson is head and shoulders our most dangerous striker, I don’t give a flying f**k what he does or doesn’t do in training.

A superb summary of the utter disaster of the last few months

So DJ doesn’t work harder than Levi or Harrison. I don’t give a rats arse..he scores goals. Madness

Allegedly, Byfield has tried to say that we would have been happy with play offs at the start of the season, so no thanks.
All getting somewhat pathetic.

Really dont agree with what happened to Sadler in front of his family, hope the fan gets what he deserves. Trivela need to intervene now before we see more scenes like this. Its obvious that Sadler has lost the fan base. Theres no repairing the damage done even if we get promoted.

If Sadler had any sense at all he wouldn’t have had any family members at the game today.
