AFC Wimbledon (N) - League 2 Play-Off Final, Mon 26th May, 3:01 pm

It’s a win-win, B_S. The occasion will be memorable, whether we win or lose. If you had said to me at the start of the season, the Saddlers will finish 4th and get to Wembley, I would have taken that. Even if we lose, I think we will do well in League 2 next season. If we win, which I hope we do, I think we will struggle a bit in League 1. I hope you and the kids enjoy only our second visit to the home of football in 102 years (since Wembley opened). UTS!!

Let’s feckin hope we can :+1::laughing:

I hope that is the case for you. It won’t be for me. It will just be another dagger in the heart, and all the stress and strain I have put myself through this season will have been for nothing.

I don’t care about what we would have accepted before the season started. We needed one extra point from 20 odd games.

If we do it, I’ll be happy and it will put things right to an extent. Lose and well, I don’t know. It will be memorable for all the wrong reasons. These are only my views and feelings, I understand that.

I’m sorry that it has been so stressful for you, and I really hope we win so you can really enjoy the day. I’m a bit more relaxed about things - I’ll be back in August whatever happens!

I’ll always be back mate, no danger there. I don’t know anything else.

I intend to have a very relaxing summer either way.

If we lose it will be an absolute disaster.

There is no reason why we cant beat Wimbledon though.

So fingers crossed we are back in division 3 tomorrow evening and we can put the debacle of the last 4 months behind us and start a fresh, the club and the fans united once more… for a few games at least.

Stress levels up, can’t get last seasons visit to Wimbledon out of my head( we owe them for that) ex striker to score syndrome (Steven’s) we have never won at Wembley

However we are in the winning red kit, I remember play off finals v Bristol City and Reading (this one has a Reading vibe to it) and I’ve be saying for a while Uncs will score the goal to take us up his 100th career goal, was hoping it was before the play offs tbf mind :+1::grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Time for a hero step forward

This is good:

Loads of us having a party in the Globe by Baker Street station the night before the JPT game. I even got video interviewed by the E&S who set up camp in there.

And so onto the game.

It’s going to be tough that is for sure. Like us, they don’t need to see loads of the football to win a game of football.

It’ll be tight with just a moment or two deciding it.

With Simkin in his best form of the season and the right back three back in situ we hold a good shape again at the back. With Stirk back towards his best as the shield we should be reasonably tight.

Hall and Chang are two very good footballers and are bright enough to bring the wing backs into play at just the right time. Our weakness however is right at the top of the park and Wimbledon will set out to do a job on Jamma.

The key man for me is Jellis. He’s been off it for months now. If he gets back to 80% of where he was at the end of the last calendar year he could make a huge difference as he, Hall and Chang can all offer a goal threat this negating the need for our number nine to carry it alone.

I’m going to go for an extra time win. 2-1. A Taylor Allen pen getting us over the line.

I hope it’s the media team and not the players who are looking to be out on the lash tonight. :joy:

I think that the key man will be the referee.

Both teams are masters of the dark arts and the game will be decided by a set piece, I suspect.

I hope it’s not a penalty or a red card but I wouldn’t be surprised if it went to penalties.
