Looked like he had quality for this level yesterday. Looked like a player that had come from higher level which has not always been the case with some of these sort of sighnings weโve made in the past.

Yep. I think we might have at last found an aging player with higher league experience who lives up to his reputation. One thing I noticed , particularly in the Morecambe match were a couple of passes into empty space ,where he thought the player would be, rather than where he was- and where a Championship player probably would be. He needs to realise the players around him arenโt as quick-thinking as he is. Apart from that, very promising.

An absolute class act on and off the pitch, you can see now why the Villa fans were so angry at us for taking him on trial rather than giving him a straight deal. Full credit to Sadler and the backroom staff for making this deal happen.

Was like that with Merson, you could tell he was on another level.
Is nice to finally get an older player who isnโt about 2 years past where they should have retired though.

Agreed.Merson is the obvious comparison. But Merson never learnt to adapt to the level he was playing alongside. I have far more confidence that Albert will.

Difference is Merson was very condescending about it saying Iโd put a pass through and the players around me were picking their noses.
Donโt think Albert would say that.He looks like he has a few seasond left and I think heโll be a fans hero/legend by the time he hangs up his boots.

Hopefully he will be the new Adam Chambers. When he arrived I thought we would get a year or 2 max out of him. Albert seems to be of a similar ilk and is in a lot better shape than I expected. Too many Wards/Martins have tainted my opinion of โold proโsโ
