Andy Williams signs

I remember Crewe away in around 2001, following the song “there’s only one Tommy Bennett”, a chap nearby quipped “Tony Bennett? Great singer!”

Still need 2 attackers no question but we need a couple of player in midfoeld who can create and get on score sheet. Our midfield was so poor last season with getting goals or getting in attacking positions. Perry labadie and even erring didnt get forward. Love kinsella but if you look at goals think it one and only 2 assists in 5 years is horrendously poor if going for promotion

I know its literally only just happened but an impressive, media savvy professional like Boycott must act in some areas of the club sooner rather than later.

It’s so, so bad. My local Nisa releases more impressive social media content.

What are you genuinely expecting ?? I am not seeing anything any better coming out of our competition.

Talking about the interview mate

Goals from last season.

Andy Williams goals 21/22 season

Way too much negativity about Williams here. Yes he’s not as young as he was but he knows where the net is and can finish given a chance. Last few seasons we have had players who were potentially quicker, but missed some glorious chances, sometimes embarrassingly. Macken wasn’t the quickest, but his brain and his finishing trumped that. I think he’s a good signing. It’s not all about speed.

That’s 20/21

Wasn’t worth putting the 4 in 21/22 into a video

I agree with your first paragraph, but it doesn’t automatically lead to the second. Do you really mean ," I hope…?"

Well if you just take half a yard off his pace, you’ll have 21/22 as well :grinning:

It’s called being an optimist. And that means waking up every morning happy. Much better for your health than being a pessimist and waking up every morning depressed.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the mansplaining

Point taken. Your words are better. I just think there is too much negativity on here at the moment. The pessimists may be proved right but I am prepared to give another couple of weeks.

So, according to a few posters, if you don’t say we are going to win the league every year despite evidence to the contrary you must be a sad, depressed individual that cries into their cornflakes every morning?

If I see a poor / mediocre 4th Division side being built, as I have done quite often in the last few years, I will bloody well say it! Whats the point in lying to yourself every year. Madness. When I see signings that make me believe we have the makings of a good side, I will say that, too! My state of mind doesn’t even come into it :joy::roll_eyes:

I’m not pessimistic, and am surprised someone has taken my post to be that. My point is that there is a lot of space between near top of the table, challenging for automatic ,and considerable improvement on the last three seasons. I think it’s more likely we’re somewhere nearer the middle of that space.

Its two weeks into June. We could easily sign 4 or 5 good players before the end of this month when all the contracts expire… Why get so het up about the state of the team now?

People talking about being optimists and pessimists, I’d rather be a realist than either :man_shrugging:

Why do you think I’m het up? :joy: Nothing could be further from the truth.

I’m well aware there could be more high quality signings in bound. I hope there are. If I base it on recent history there won’t be, but I am hoping with the new people involved there is a chance.

Just because I am saying there is absolutely nothing to get excited about following our early business doesn’t mean I am ‘depressed’, ‘het up’ or any other sensationalist language to discredit anyone that dares to stop taking the happy pills and call things as they see them.

…but aren’t all optimists and pessimists, realists in their own minds?:face_with_monocle:
