Aston Villa (H) 24th July, 7.45pm

1-6 !!! EDIT - stays at 1-5 (which is a fair reflection of the game)

Ferrier may as well not be in the pitch ,he’s not interested at all

The sooner he’s gone the better

Bump.

Not to struck on the right back , to many basic errors

Could be damaging to Ferrier’s knee-caps…infact I’ll take that as a potential positive.

Set pieces that go sailing away to touch :frowning:

Even without Ferriers attitude & strops, he’s actually not very good!

Observations:
Does Rose ever dive?
Facey makes Norman look like Kyle Walker
No creativity at all - we don’t look like we will create too many chances
Sinclair buzzes around
Kinsella needs to learn from Sinclair very quickly or else make way for Bates

Little optimism

Big concerns after watching this , I know they are Premiership but we were rubbish .
Big lump up field for Ferrier … seen that before haven’t we , only he looks even less interested

The club have put a brave face on it at least…

“A convincing win for the home side” ???

Win for the home side …

Can we finally knock this tired old fixture on the head, at long last, please?

It’s been a dull prospect for years. Nowadays, it’s depressing, to boot.

I’d like to see the following team against Tranmere:

Rose
Clarke, Scarr, Sadler
Norman, Bates, Guthrie, Sinclair, Cokerill-Mollett
Adebayo, Ferrier

The only consolation is that the likes of Northampton Town won’t be as good as the Villa were … will they?

Ok we played a team that are 3 divisions above us, but so did we a few weeks ago, but i didn’t see us tanking them 5-1

Sinclair, Kins, Adebajo good first half. Clarke looks strong but daft penna to give away. Our defensive clearances are woeful and repeatedly underhit into the danger zones. Gordon anonymous, Ferrier even more so second half. Too many long aimless balls forward from us, too much respect given to Villa in the first half. Pring culpable for two of their goals Cockerill- Mollet looks a better bet. Proper striker is an absolute must and some other attacking options from the midfield, thought we were out muscled in midfield too easily. Lots of work to be done if we’re going to mount any sort of challenge for promotion, Villa looked so much better than us. We didnt lay a glove on them after we scored. Key signings needed for this campaign and the sooner the better.

Yes surely we could be playing The Royal Oak , or The Red Lion , they would be a far better fixture for us to watch … I think

And I’ll say it again, we are 3 quality players short of being competitive.

It’s obvious!
