None. Like I said:

Perfectly real :+1:

I remember big fat Jan’s side getting dicked 5-1 at old Trafford in the FA cup by a half strength Man U side and no-one that I know of committed suicide.

Yep. Because they were champions, won the treble the following year, fielded players like David Beckham and were actually going for the FA Cup.

But a newly promoted team with all new players playing at half pace is totally the same

Nobody is “committing suicide” over it. It’s just highlighted a few of our weaker areas that is all. I hope they are rectified by the time we kick off.

and we were a league above where we are now and the gulf between the premiership and the lower leagues has grown phenomenally since those days.

If we are as weak as we were last season we can forget about a promotion, or maybe even a mid table tilt. We were a poor league one team, they were a good championship team. We are, supposedly, a promotion chasing League two team and they could be fighting to stay in the Prem. The gulf was pretty big before and still is. But pretending it’s incomparable is nonsense.

Nobody’s mentioned the vile fans fighting between themselves before kick off in the fam stand, at least we wait till mid season lol

We were the better side that day, until they took the lead. United fans outside the ground were saying we were only the second team to go there that season, and not park the bus.

That half strength side also contained Schmeichel, Irwin, Berg, Johnsen, Scholes, Beckham, Cole, and Solskjaer, to be fair. There’s 8 out of 11.

I remember that game so well: Boli’s goal was ace but Cole’s movement off the ball was different class. From that moment on, I recognised that TV punditry never told the whole story. In my view, Andy Cole never got the credit he deserved…

you mean until Andy Cole scored in the 10th minute?

Can’t believe how many people either

A) Don’t understand what the basics of a performance consists of.

Or

B) Don’t think getting these basics right in preseason matters.
