Away end open to home fans for Accy

Its not quite the same but yes it should improve things.

Myth that our home atmosphere isn’t any good.

I think it’s more a case of a lack of flexibility and creativity from the club (basically it translates to couldn’t give a crap mentality) coupled to spending an additional few quid on a few more bobbies around the ground

Our home support has been good this year. It was very quiet pre Trivela but the fact there is (or was) real belief that the club wants to achieve something more than just existing has meant the home crowd has been much noisier. I go away reguarly and home crowds are generaly quiet. The only time you heard Newport on Monday was when the ref ruled the goal out. I have noticed more young people following us now than say 10 years ago and that also helps with the atmosphere. To say our home fans are quieter than others at home is an outdated myth.

The away end should have been made available a few weeks ago. I would have done what we did when we played Northampton to effectively stay up in league 1 under Keatsey and made it £5 adults and £1 kids. Should have filled the ground. Would have made a load of money in booze, food etc

I think we’d be right up there for home atmospheres if it was the old home end with no upper. I’m not saying it to try and criticise our own fans, just basing it on a few things.

The high roof= no acoustics

Large stand= most fans who sing are less congregated meaning it’s harder to get a song going or for others to join in.

Tv/highlights- whenever the players are shaking hand etc pre kick off, all I can ever hear is the away fans. Even though I know full well there’s plenty singing players names/ wednesbury road etc.

Perspective- there’s times I’ve been in the lower and it felt like an amazing atmosphere, when really the noise just doesn’t travel to other areas of the ground. I’ve sat in the family stand and pallet track this season, and there’s only the odd occasion you can hear the fans.

This isn’t a dig because you can see plenty of people singing and clapping, but the sound simply doesn’t travel very well from the lower tier.

IMO we are up there with the most loyal and passionate fans there is.

Just had a look at our eTicketing site and only 2 blocks of the away end appear to be available, with not many seats in either already gone. Have other blocks sold out (as have just about all of the Poundland lower and many blocks of the main stand) or are they only opening up part rather than all?

Guessing it’s just the two blocks. Could always open more if needed I guess. Looks like sales all around the ground have dried up a little bit now though! Hopefully we will have a late flurry, just a shame it was opened last minute as most people would’ve already had their tickets.

Just two blocks opened and as I mentioned earlier uptake is slow and evidently still is

Fair play to those moving their season tickets to sit with the other hundred odd in the BAT Holdings Stand. I wouldn’t move my season ticket for love nor money (unless the love was coming from Linda Lusardi and the money was in excess of a thousand pounds).

Just Linda would do

Few more gone in there now.

Given that the only tickets left in any number in the big stand are in the extreme top corners, if I was a match by match person I’d now defo choose the “away end” for my tenners worth.

I’d also urge anyone now buying to go in there too. Good numbers of our fans behind both goals can definitely make a difference. Your presence will be felt by the team far more being in that stand than up on the gods at the usual end.

Really hope another thousand or so get the urge over the next 24 hours. Whichever end/side they choose.

Maybe to get a few more in they can enter anyone going in the away end into a draw taking place just before kickoff.
Winner gets to swop seats with Sadler and manages the team for the game.
