Barrow (A) April 12th, 3pm kick-off

In terms of points, we are in a great position. In terms of confidence or momentum, we are not. Maybe DD would bring some spirit back to the team.

There have been lots of games we wanted to win recently but each one gets more important. Win or bust.

While Barrow’s SO Legal Stadium is not famous for its atmosphere, the ground is usually still an excellent away day, offering visitors a combination of football, scenic views and plenty of entertainment options in the local area.

Away fans are mostly housed on one side of the Holker Street Terrace (towards the Brian Arrowsmith Stand) at one end of the ground.

There is also some additional standing space available beside the Brian Arrowsmith Stand.

Oddly the Club have elected to segregate supporters at that end by the use of a dividing fence which means that no visiting fans can stand directly behind the goal.

During the infamous Summer of 2020, a roof was erected over the whole of the Holker Street End, providing welcome cover for visiting supporters.

When segregation is in place, all away fans must enter Holker Street via the turnstiles located on Wilkie Road.

If you are in the standing portion of the away section, then you will have a bit more flexibility with your view and as long as you are not behind someone taller than you, your view of the pitch should be fairly good.

However, if you are instead in the seating section, then, for the best view of the entire pitch possible, we strongly recommend sitting a few rows back.

Barrow is widely regarded as a welcoming and is often praised for its friendly fanbase that is usually more than happy to drink alongside away fans on matchday.

With that in mind, it perhaps won’t be surprising to learn that away fans are welcome to drink in the catering outlet located just outside the ground and in the Cross Bar situated near the club’s main reception. The Bar offers a range of alcoholic and non- alcoholic fruit based drinks and has on occasion also provided some cold food options.

However, if you are set on enjoying your pre-match pints at a pub, then the best options for away fans are as follows:

Hawcoat Park Sports Club - If you love sports and you love clubs then you are in luck, this club caters for all well behaved spectators of any colour or creed. You may even get the chance to try your hand at Archery or Crown Green Bowls before the big game.
Ambrose Hotel - Situated a gentle stroll away from the arena, this is a perennial away spectators favourite for it’s range of drinks and snacks.
The Furness Railway - An always popular JD Wetherspoon freehouse, superb amenities and within walking distance of the arena.

Hot food options are available inside the arena including cheeseburgers (£4.05), tomato soup (£2.95) and cheese pie (£4.20) as well as a range of snacks and sweet treats such as crisps and confectionery.

Whilst settled weather conditions are forecast for Saturday the April sun can be deceptively strong so with temperatures anticipated in the early sixties the away audience is strongly encouraged to cover up and drink plenty of fluids.

Not going. Im going to try and ignore it all day and check in at 5 when its done.

Its simple, if we want to go up we have to win. Anything less then i cant see us doing it.

Our away form is better than our current home form but Barrow are going along quite nicely so who knows what the outcome will be.
On the one hand I think we are still in a good position to stumble over the line but then when I think about the slump that we seem unable to break free of I just can’t see where the next win will come from never mind stringing a run together.
I’ll be there doing my bit and hope we win but I’m expecting to see us lumping it to jamma, giving the ball away and DJ coming on in the 85th minute as we chase the game. I hate being negative but watching the same thing over and over again tends to make me feel that way.

Longshot - I don’t suppose anyone is travelling from Lincolnshire/East Midlands to this and has a spare seat please? I am struggling to get there

Our slide will continue 5 nill loss with a fight between Sadler and DJ seeing both getting red cards, Simkin crying and big Dave not knowing which way we are kicking towards. UTS in melt down and Ben Boycott sacking the whole squad and playing the youth for the last 4 games … which we win and get promoted.

I also had a 3-0 reverse in my mind.

I am really hoping that Sadler’s words to the players about sticking it up us doubters has a positive impact.

Sadler to stick with Dave, Stirk and Matt - a loss is all i can imagine happening.
Could be fourth by the time we kick off.
A big loss and a sacking by 6pm

Can’t see us getting anything out of this tbh. I do hope I’m wrong.

Feel like Vale was make or break. Win and it gives us that boost for the run in. Lose and it was the start of the end for our season. Can see us losing here unfortunately but it’s still all to play for so I hope we don’t throw it all away.

This is a must win if we have any chance of automatic promotion

A draw at best, more likely a stuffing i fear.

The definition of madness : doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome .

In our world :..

Dave will hoof it into the channels 15 times

Jamma will wrestle the centre half for 70 mins but only touch the ball twice

Jellis will pump his chest but put his corner into Row D

DJ will come on at 89 mins and not touch the ball

Our wing backs aren’t allowed to run with the ball by the opposition

We will complete 10 passes but misplace 80

Sadler will roll and twitch his head maniacally wondering why the master plan isn’t working

I can see a hammering.

3-0 Barrow

Looked to me like the team quit as soon as Port Vale got their third. Not sure we have the bottle to bounce back so expecting another defeat .

I don’t think so. We started the second half well but when that yielded no dividends, the heads did drop a bit.

3-1 defeat.

Forget our form and whatever…

Its Barra ay it.

We’ve needed a reset for a while, but let’s hope something has clicked, the lads have had a good week on the training ground and we head north with clear heads!

Optimistic as usual Barrow 1, Walsall 3

I decided to do the same…but then weakened. Ticket just bought, train booked.

The way I feel at the moment - I will predict a Barrow victory although I really hope I am entirely wrong.
