We looked tired today - but still ground out the win. What a team. Probably a 6/10 performance but with a 10/10 result.
Lakin superb, easy MOTM. Liam Gordon a close second.
Think Barrow could play till tomorrow and still not score.

Good victory, but the most important thing is that gap above fourth team. There’s still January, but this team is very strong.

Vale had a cast iron goal disallowed in the dying moments to end up with the draw. The ball had crossed the line by about a foot.

A workmanlike performance but I’ll take that. My favourite bit of the match was the last ten minutes or so when they were desperate to get forward and we played the game in their half.

Hard fought win whilst not being at your best has all the hallmarks of ….Pr… you know what .
Defence and Simkin all did well , Gordon had a very good game and Lakin was absolutely excellent. Lakin also seems the most pumped when we score / win - he’s properly invested in this … great to see .
Some of the others not quite on it but no one was poor .

Strange game I thought. We did what we needed to and only got into second gear. Barrow were pretty dreadful second half, anytime they attacked it came to nothing. Walsall today proving that winning becomes a habit.

Crap day for me but made better by this result.
I never made the game despite setting off at about 10am. A blow out on the A50 and a two hour wait for RAC put paid to it.
Sounds like it was one of those games that you just need to grind out and take three points. A really important quality for any side with promotion aspirations.
Hopefully this week gives everyone some respite and we go into the hectic Christmas schedule with everyone as strong and fit as possible.
Having spent 7 hours in the motor I’m now just going to grab a whiskey and stare at the league table for a few hours.
Up those bloody Saddlers.
