Having not been to Barrow since the first time after Covid, are you allowed to move from the side stand to behind the goal (like at Gillingham on Saturday and Accrington earlier in the season) or once you have a seating ticket, that’s where you have to stay?
Saw a recent photo that I can’t find now, where the view is somewhat restricted with the stanchions of the new seating stand erected since I last went.
Yeah they have a ‘new’ seated bit that was there the last time we played them which is a marginal improvement maybe on the previous two occasions. I would suspect if you have a seated ticket you can get stand up but if you have a standing ticket you won’t be able to get into the seats.
Same food kiosks and toilets for both seats and standing so you can “get lost” on your way back to your seat if you’re not happy with the view from the new stand we were in last season.
The view from the standing when I last went there, the half behind the goal, was the worst view I’ve had at a ground. Couldn’t see the full goal in front of us, couldn’t see the corner flag nearest us. It must be a lot better from the seats on the side of the pitch.
Asked at the ticket office yesterday regarding the standing tickets, they don’t think there will be enough sales for it to get to the standing section.
Got mine when they went on sale on Monday (picked up yesterday). Had already decided a while back to make a weekend of it, but was a bit uncertain if Sky would f*** up the scheduled day/time again so we booked Wednesday-Sunday (a holiday let at Ulverston) to cover my bases.
Would just have been my luck for them to then move it to the Monday night, but it seems we’ve got away with it.
Newport is the same re we have to sell all the higher priced tickets first before they will release the cheaper ones. I’ll do my bit tomorrow and get a covered seat (so I’m OK if it rains, but can decamp to my preferred behind-the-goal if it’s a nice day - and enough of the rest of you decide to come along).
It’s a bit strange that neither Barrow or Newport have done this sort of thing for our previous visits though - anyone know why?
Respect to anyone who goes to barrow. The worst football ground and away day I’ve ever been. It would take something big to ever get me to go there again. I’ll do every game remaining apart from barrow even if it meant we could clinch promotion that day.i still wouldn’t go back there.
I know the covered seating is only the bit on the side but I was surprised they had sold already. Could be a potential promotion winning game, I wouldn’t want anyone who wants to go to miss out.
It certainly has been. I was on hold for nearly 20 minutes on Monday morning when I rang to get my Newport ticket. A glut of Early Birds, last minute for Donny, and the tenner tickets apparently - hopefully now also a lot more takers for PV too. It seems that the doom and gloom that lots on here seem to exude isn’t mirrored by the majority of our fans.
