Bescot - "The most modern stadium in the country"

The shop is way to small for its purpose, the club should realise they are potentially losing a lot of extra revenue as people just get fed up of the size of the queues, and as you say nowhere to try anything on.

It would be in the best interests of the club to use, or find a larger premises, or build a larger supporters shop on the site.

Another one that Little Ben should be resolving asap as it’s a clear revenue restrictor.

Perhaps the club should instruct Mr Whalley to undertake the task of rectifying the “mistakes” of the original concept, after all he presumably played a role in the development of it and subsequent “improvements”. He may have contact with a certain businessman who might quite like to donate and fund the project as a legacy! On the other hand, perhaps not. Just checked the website; yes he’s still here.

Don’t even need to do that.

Build the stand that side right up to where the gates are and have a walkway under the stand like the home end.

1- the stanchions are terrible and ruin viewing experience in the two side stands (and the away I guess)
2- sort the bleeding speakers out they’ve been crap for years

Wouldn’t get through planning due to lack of light into those properties for a start.

The stadium size is more than suitable for our needs, if we got to the championship I reckon we would only sell out against West Brom & Wolves. I agree with the club shop needs to be increased or a new building erected on the car park somewhere.

I agree on the capacity/size issue and deliberately never mentioned increasing it in my original post - we need a better stadium, not a bigger one…

The size of the shop is terrible - have no appetite to go in on a match day as it’s always rammed.

Should have been included in Supporters Club revamp.

All great ideas but the current location is a major problem when it comes to access and parking. To cater for larger crowds when/if we get promoted, street parking becomes more difficult and contentious with the locals.

Buying the retail park would help, but still would have limited parking area, and the road junction off Wallows Lane would remain a big issue.

I still favour moving to a site near to Junction 11 on the M6, which would be close to the training ground and motorway access.

All pie in the sky unfortunately, as Trivela have no intention ( or funds) to make this happen.

And miles away from public transport links.

I walked out having tried the shirts on in the shop. Either the sizing is bizarre or my body is just a really weird shape.

First time I have refused to buy

Would it be feasible for a total revamp of Bescot instead of a move?

One day someone will buy the club and stick it where it belongs, as close to the Town Centre as possible. Preferably on the North side. Bescot is rubbish.

The stanchions should go, they are an embarrassment. They also need to add more floodlights, it’s just not good enough

Not sure whether bigger stands and more capacity is needed. Even in the championship with merson et all we struggled to attract 10,000 home fans. Don’t want to be yet another lower league club with a soul less three quarters empty stadium.

Hence my post

Is this anywhere near feasible?

Technically, probably not even Walsall (South Staffs or even Wolverhampton if the wrong side of the junction) - wouldn’t go down well…

Too far from anything else

Zero public transport

How about in the Arboretum extension?

The floodlights are a big failure. You wouldn’t believe they were totally redone in the last 5 years. Whoever was in charge of that, both the contractors and those in charge at the club, should be ashamed.

They must at least meet the EFL’s mandatory minimum standard or else we wouldn’t be permitted to hold night games.
