Birmingham (A) - FL Trophy - Tuesday 3rd September 7.45pm

Tonight ajowed the strength of the squad ,something missing forvyears.6 starters injured and those who stood in were tremendous
Motm Hornby and Williams
Showed how much Josh Gordon is missed ,holding ball up,Lowe lookedclost and isolated

In my case, that’s sciatica.

I thought we were excellent defensively tonight, Hornby had a great game and Harry Williams was IMMENCE!
A great goal by Lakin and another assist by Barrett, what a find he’s been!
The Blues piled it on in the 2nd half but we defended like lions and did well to prevent more goals.
Considering the money they’ve spent, we were excellent tonight.
The confidence in this team is thrilling to watch, we shouldn’t fear any opponent we face. Sadler has a well drilled, hard working, disciplined side, more than capable of achieving some success this season.

Aged well lol…

What a f#&@ing team we’ve got, these boys are incredible.

I said that having talked to them over in Ireland, if they had a bit of an off spell it would take a lot to convince me they weren’t trying or didn’t care and you can just see that effort, commitment and desire from everyone of them, every game and just how together they are.

Couldn’t be prouder.:heart::heart::heart:

Their forum is hilarious. Didn’t realise Blues fans were so big time, always thought they were more grounded.

Turns out, we might be a decent side.

Not as bad as he should be feeling about 15 million quid being spent on a striker who did absolutely nothing all night apart from score from 12 yards unchallenged.

Remarkable from our fans over 1000 there tonight UTS

Little mention for Reyes Cleary for me. Not an easy game to come on for your first start with 20 mins to go and our possession of the ball getting lower and lower. To then take the 5th, and a crucial penalty having seen his more experienced compatriot miss (again) takes some balls. I was praying for it to go in as I didn’t want his first game to be marred by missing a crucial pen. Him and Lowe can hopefully play big roles within this squad.

What a monumental performance from the boys.

Seems wrong to pick out individuals but I can’t not mention Sam Hornby who even before the shootout made 3 or 4 unreal saves. And Harry f*ing Williams up against that level of opposition, unbelievable he was.

I do also think we’ll be attracting a lot of attention for Connor Barrett in the summer, hopefully he sticks around for a while.

Hope that’s not taken too much out of them for the weekend :pray:t3:

Got to give credit and praise for Hornby tonight. Even before his 2 penalty saves he had a very good game. Hopefully will do his confidence the power of good and will also keep Tommy on his toes.

1,000 of us there,:rofl::rofl::rofl: there have been quite a few fixtures in this Trophey over the last fews years where the whole attendance hasn’t reached that.

Did the West Brom ‘Boing Boing’ celebration to the Blues fans at the end :joy:

Back from work to late to make the game tonight. Watched on tv . We really have a team to be proud about .
In a game of little importance we gave 100% and hunted them down like wolfs .
Watching the game it didn’t feel like a game of little relevance and hearing the 1200 saddlers load and proud made me feel really proud of my team. .UTS

A ‘cool’ penalty.

The competition doesn’t have any relevance, but the confidence that result gives the players and fans is immeasurable

This is Trivela’s game plan. Pick up young talent cheap from non league and sell for a profit. Great return on investment if they do it right.

Barrett, Jellis and Williams all looking like bargains at the moment
