Birmingham (A) - FL Trophy - Tuesday 3rd September 7.45pm

It’s a great atmosphere in that ground, with fans right next to each other.
I’ve no doubt the Blues will have a very good season.
I think their fans were expecting a walk-over.
They were getting very animated, as though it wasn’t quite fair.
They will certainly be contenders for the Entitlement Trophy this season.

Those three cost us in the region of £100,000.

Unbelievable business.

Just back home. What a fantastic night.
Yes it’s the BSM trophy but the game was played like a proper cup tie with a great atmosphere.
Our fans were incredible. Didn’t stop singing for the entire game and pens.
Just having a little lubrication for my sore throat!.
What I love about this team is the never say die attitude. They put their bodies on the line and have already formed a brilliant relationship with the fans.

It’s still early in the season, but this team has already shown what they’re about with their character and their togetherness.

Fingers crossed something special is brewing.

A Blues fan just came up with congrats on winning your Cup final, now remind me what league are they in, we’ve beaten bigger teams than that lot

Priestley Farquharson out for a ‘significant amount of time’ with injury :pensive:

Sadler mentioned Priestly is out for a significant period of time. Tear to his quad. On his day when fit he is a great asset, but just when he looks like he’s getting going, he gets injured.

I was in the Brummie end and they all agreed that if they had won on penalties we would have been robbed.
Found them quite humble.
Great night.

‘Little old Walsall’. Standing tall, feeling proud.:clap::clap:

This from one of their forums:

‘Can’t help but think there are deliberate orders not to shoot. That we are using this as practice for breaking down defences. We’ve eschewed a couple of obvious shooting chances for a harder pass’

We went toe to toe with them and proved to be more than a match for another L1 side, if that doesn’t bode well for us I don’t know what does.

Got to about 60 minutes and I was standing there thinking “this team could really do something this season”, and realised it’s been so long since I’ve thought that I can’t remember, and it’s been so long since I’ve turned up to games not expecting something abysmal, or calamitous, or predictably dire.

Starting to dare to re-connect.
