1992?
Charlie Ntamark scored a header off a corner if I remember right in a 1-0 win.
Oh but it’s true
As we went warp factor 2
And I met all of the crew
Where’s Captain Stirk?
Extra time in this competition back then.
You’re captain Stirk. Fizzing with Spizzenergi!
I remember it well - lost 2-1 in a pretty poor game.
That’s the game in which the Ref inexplicably ended the match around 3-4 minutes early.
“Don’t stop believin… Hold on to that feelin”
Proud of this team. And it’s not just the results, we have a group out there who give everything for each other and that’s all we ask for as Walsall fans. Years of failure and watching poor teams don’t half inject some pessimism into you though - I can’t let myself get carried away and I’m just waiting for it all to fall apart and we look back on what was a good start. Our last start this good to a season would’ve been the relegation season starting with Keates. I do think this season will be different though, the togetherness of these lads, the continuity from last season, the quality, the squad depth are all boding well and I hope we continue and get a bit of luck along the way and have a successful season. Onto MK, another 1000+ there saddlers
I bet the lads enjoyed that! About time they saw some excitement
If we beat enough of these L1 sides does that qualify us to go straight to the championship if we get promoted?
Great fight shown by the players loving this team so much desire and fire in there bellies and the fans were loud and proud.
Special mentions too.
Williams - dominated the box.
Stirk - proper captains Performance.
Barratt - excellent in both boxes.
Hornby - Some great saves MOTM. If he puts in a similar performance against MK Dons then the no1 jersey is his to lose.
UTS hopefully another good at following by the red army at MK, players and club deserve our full backing
MK is going to be a massive yard stick for this team considering what happened at our last meeting in May.
They did mate.
Before the game I was a bit fearful of a thrashing, but nothing of the kind was on the cards, we more than matched them in the game.
That support last night was unreal though. Not just the numbers but the noise was deafening and none stop all game. Another great night, they are becoming a bit of a habit so far this season, more of those please.
Hard to see this team not to be pushing top 7, and with a bit more luck with injuries who knows.

As the Four Seasons once famously said ‘oh what a night!’
Immensely proud of the boys, we were good value for the draw, we were made to suffer by Blues without the ball but we defended heroically and always looked a threat when we ventured forward. Sadler is doing a quite superb job with this team, winning breeds confidence and indeed becomes a habit (even after pens). Long may it continue, I can only imagine the scenes on the coach on the way home, I bet Maroon 5 was absolutely blasting. Not many teams will emerge from St Andrews @ Knighthead Park undefeated this season.
A word for our supporters too, magnificent. A shade over a thousand there but sounded like nearly double that, outsung the Blues for 90 minutes and some great banter. The looks on their faces when we were singing ‘Everywhere we go’ was priceless.
What are you suggesting, it is some sort of dungeon?
Interesting that Sadler states that we’ve spent a hell of a lot of money on this squad!
He’s also starting to let his guard down, great to see.
Also a mention for Nathan Lowe , this lads mustard. Yes he didn’t score but his work rate is phenomenal. stoke will have one hell of a player in a few years.
Not only is it a difficult place to go, it’s a difficult place to get out of!
