Surely you can see it works both ways
It’s blatantly obvious we need two strikers, I’m sure Sadler and Trivela are aware of and desperately trying to remedy the situation.
My belief, and my opinion only, is we’re doing our best to get Mo back and WBA are playing hard ball.
There has to come a time where both clubs are deadlocked and we have to turn our attentions elsewhere. At this point I’m sure most of our targets have gone elsewhere by now leaving us scraping the bottom of the barrel…at least in the EPL. We haven’t got long to bring them in, I just hope they’re not panic signings, we’ve had more than enough of those.
Someone asked Faal who was playing as Rushall today and apparently his answer was we will have to wait and see.
At least it wasn’t a straight no
“ spoke to the manager and straight away I knew this was the club I want to play for “
Smith got a bit out of him but I always thought we looked better when he wasn’t playing.
Everywhere else he has been they haven’t been able to get rid quick enough. I think Pompey sent him to Ross County or someone similar, Barnsley terminated his contract.
I’ve not seen him play since he left us but I’d be very disappointed if that was the standard of player we are looking at now. Where would we play him anyway? He was never a striker.
He was always a wide forward. Never a striker plus he was always off the first chance he got. Need to move on from him.
when he was on it he was quality, but those days were one in about 8 games. Its ridiculous to want him back now though, fair play the bloke will go and play anywhere and good luck to him, but no ta. Dont think hes managed 50 games in all the years since he left us. Which says a lot about his fitness.
Obviously he realises the grass was not greener now and pretends hes some sort of Walsall fan but he goes down in a long line of players in that era that probably regret leaving.
I think that the cask in hand is to stop firkin about. Sign a striker for a record fee including vat. We need to start puncheon up to and above our weight.
Because they are quality players with good scoring records - the evidence is there! We’ve signed a striker who scored 1 goal in 23 games last season and re-signed one who can’t play 90 minutes, and probably not back-to-back games. Why should anyone be worried?!!
I believe that Timmy Abraham is available!!
But the forwards don’t score.
No formal debriefs for the friendlies but for what it’s worth my Leamore Windows Match Hero was Jamie Jellis and my S&S Steelstock match rating was a 7.
What’s the point of such a forum then? If we are all expected to violently agree, then it’s time to pack it in. I like to hear other posters’ (reasoned) arguments, and try to respond constructively. But I ain’t taking abuse from anyone on here!
Granted better scoring records than JG, but they hardly set the world alight.
Bogle has floated around clubs since getting a move on the back of his form for Grimsby 10 plus years ago and CBR has resigned for the team he left two years prior.
I’ll wait to see what the club comes up with before beating them with a stick.
The point is exactly that. People have different views and they are debated. Best not to have thin skin though, whichever side of the argument you are on.
If the club signs two (or at least one) decent striker(s), then I’ll be the first to say “Good job”! But, my past experience of supporting this club, is that we don’t sign quality strikers, because they cost too much. If we are lucky enough to get another Faal or Draper on loan, and sign someone like Kamwa, I’d be happy. But time is running out. We really need to have something sorted before the Solihull Moors game! I beginning to think we should recall DJT!
There’s a difference between having thin skin and not taking any sht!!
I agree. Taking shit is very subjective though. One man’s taking shit is another mans banter.
Also can be that one has been rinsed in a discussion and therefore gets precious
But we have in the past signed players deemed to be ‘quality’. Matt and DJ being the most recent examples. There weren’t many, if any moaning when they signed. Instead they were praising the club. Before that we signed Cook after his exploits getting Tranmere back into the FL.
But then on the other hand, we sign unknowns and misfits and it clicks. Who would have signed Bradshaw before he signed for us?
Again like you but on the other side of the coin, I’ll be the first to say the club messed up, but I’m willing to give them a chance before saying so. It’s not even August yet. In a perfect world, we’d have them in already or at the latest before the Morecambe match. But unfortunately, we don’t live in a perfect world.
