I loved how Cook tried to bring him into a physical battle and Williams basically said “ok” and then went on to win everything against him.
There was one point I’d swear Williams just straight up laughed at Cook after he tried some shenanigans.

It won’t accept my sign-in details, the site is rubbish. All so they can get your email address and mither me with “special offers”.
Have you got the YouTube link mate?
Did you hear Williams talking to Daz Hale, aired in snippets before the match? He seems to love the battles and the more physical the challenge he’s up against the better.
Be plenty of oppurtunies even with 5 of them. Strikers cant/don’t last 90 mins the way we play.
What I like is they all offer something a little bit different.
Yes he did I think Cook was trying to get a free kick
That was just class
this wasn’t too shabby either tbf. Imagine if he pulled off the chip
I am not as critical of Stirk as some posters are, but I don’t understand the love for him.
His distribution is not good enough for a promotion challenging side. Did people not notice that he frequently gave the ball away yesterday, even when not under any pressure? As it used to be said about another midfielder, we need better quality if we are going to play consistently good football from midfield.
Thanks for posting the extended highlights.
They support my belief that if the goalkeepers had swapped places before the kick-off, we would have won that match by four or five to nil.
He gave the ball away quite a few times in the first half yesterday it has to be said. He was sometimes trying passes that weren’t really on rather than a more simple one.
However, some of these passes in previous games have helped our style of play. I am certain if and when Comley returns and gets a chance you will notice a difference in the speed of our attacks because he always plays safe and slows the game down.
Stirk just played like kinsella always played
Hard work won the ball back and awful with the ball at his feet
He is ok
Partly but Stirk does play the ball forward as much as he can. Kinsella never did.
Not in the game I watched. I thought Stirk was superb, winning the ball and moving us forward. A significant improvement on Kinsella.
That’s how kinsella played though … isn’t it ?
Kinsella couldn’t play the ball through the lines, or support attacks.
Fair enough Stirk gave the ball away a few too many times yesterday but it was in an attempt to get us moving forwards and increase the tempo. Kinsella for all his graft couldn’t do that.
The dilemma with Stirk will come when Comley is fit. Think he’s done an excellent job at the base of the midfield 3, but last season showed he’s not great in an attacking role.
Thought he had an excellent game yesterday.
