Bradford City (H) - League Two - Sat 14th September, 3pm

Very easy to forget. Surely you can’t defend the tripe that was being played over the past 5yrs. You obviously live in LA LA land, what’s the weather like up there …:joy:

Simkin
Okagbue Williams Allen

Barrett Jellis Stirk Lakin Gordon (or Earing)

Lowe Matt

I’d keep Hornby in, what’s the point in having competition for places if when someone has 2 brilliant games they go straight back onto the bench, not fair in my book. Plus Simkin won’t learn anything from it either.

I’m not defending it, just saying it’s history and has no bearing on how the team are doing now.

With your attitude you’ll end up missing out on a period when Walsall are putting in good performances

Alternatively we can sit around and complain about things in the past

I know which I’ll be doing at 3pm on Saturday

He lost his head at the end of that season. Got sent off v Bradford and when he returned was only on the bench v Sunderland which I imagine annoyed him. Then it became a toxic atmosphere and he had a bite back. Also imagine he got on with Leahy who was getting even more stick in that run in so you could tell with the social reaction after leaving neither had any intention of staying.

He’d have been fine under Clarke’s style of play especially as he was effectively replaced by Rory Gaffney who was a massive failure.

Edit: Probably shows the lack of decent CFs this club has had in the last decade we’re still talking about him over five years after leaving (and he was only here 12 months).

Might be a clause in the loan deal that if fit, Simkin has to play. You never know!

If Gordon is not fit, we might see Lakin at LWB, with Earing in midfield,

Upfront, I think we have to imagine that we have 3 fir strikers with DJ able to play, say, half and hour. I might start with Matt and Cleary, who deserves a chance but Lowe would be OK too.

With the exception of Stirk, that is a fairly tall team.

I can’t see why any reason whatsoever why anybody wouldn’t start Lowe :man_shrugging:

I think you are right about Lakin. He is a better option than Weir at the moment. I think Lowe must play first possibly with Cleary with Matt and DJ appearing in the second half. I would not be averse to playing Maher off Lowe at the start.

The argument would be not to tire him out. He has not played so many matches. If he does start, he should be alongside Matt to help with the physical stuff.

He hasn’t completed a league game yet, and hasn’t played a game for a week. I reckon he will be alright.

And if he does start it should be nowhere near Matt, who should be on the bench. Both do the same job, and he looks plenty physical enough.

Well, that’s my point really. As ever we disagree. Jamma should start, if he is fit.

I don’t understand it though? Why would he be tired in a scenario where he hasn’t played a full 90 minutes in the league and hasn’t had a midweek game yet? He’s an 18 year old athlete, I don’t think that is a stretch. Granted he shouldn’t be grinding out 90 mins every Saturday and Tuesday … but he hasn’t been?

You don’t think their both incredibly similar? There isn’t a lack of (any) pace in that forward line? It’s all well and good saying we don’t agree, but just stating the same thing without addressing the points would make for a very boring discussion.

Was told in the summer there is a clause in his contract, not that he has to play, but it’s better for us if he does.

Cook was 5x the striker and target man Matt has ever been for us
Swap cook for Matt last season and we’d have been a lot closer to th r playoffs

It’s an irrelevant point anyway about the keepers, Simkin should play. Hornby was good against Blues, and alright against MK but he was very poor against Huddersfield and Simkin hasn’t done anything to lose the shirt. People have short memories, but most were bigging Simkin up before this point.

Whatever team MS puts out Bradford will be a real test especially after last week’s showing.

I don’t mind missing out on the ‘occasional’ good performance, because that’s all we’ve had over the past few years. And ,“WITH YOUR ATTITUDE” you’ll sit through a hell of a lot of dross to see a good performance.

We’re not going to agree, but I haven’t had to sit through any dross this season.

If you can’t enjoy watching Walsall this season there’s no point following them
