The next Saturday home game has been postponed due to international call ups.
That’s annoying.
Who’s been called up then do we know? Simkin, L Gordon and Daniels I assume? The latter could do with a few weeks to get back up to speed surely rather than going on international duty but there we go.
Yep,
Having the MK game called off would have helped us probably but that didn’t happen because of injuries.
Annoying to lose a Saturday home game really, especially when we are in such good form.
From a selfish point of view I’m gutted because I return to the south west in November which makes it harder to attend games.
From a form point of view, last year’s postponements wrecked our form, frustrating.
Comley aswell
The site says they’ve got international call ups too
Cheers mate
What a nuisance this is…very disappointed.
At the moment this feels like bad news as we have some momentum and don’t want it interrupted.
An alternative point of view is that an autumn break for the vast majority of the squad won’t be a bad thing at all. We’ve had a right run of fixtures and a couple of weeks “off” will enable some tired limbs to refresh.
But right now I’m in the “this is bad news” camp.
From a selfish point of view this is bad news, another leisurely saturday game changed to a rush after work and little social time before kickoff or after.
So there will now be 8 weeks between our last Saturday 3.00pm home league game and our next one.
But if we’re at home in the FA Cup, possibility of three Saturday 3pm games in a row in November
pisses me of because the replay will more then likely be a midweek game
Was looking forward to attending as its during my next stop over at my mums. Really don’t like these international breaks they just ruin the flow of the season. Especially annoying as the squad could easily cope in my opinion.
There must have been a temptation to go ahead with the game even with the potential call ups but I guess that’s taken out of our hands if Bromley have 3 themselves.
Actually probably not a bad thing for Daniels and Comley, will get competitive minutes in them we would otherwise be unable to offer, so will aid their recovery.
Yeah could look at it like that mate as well
Don’t think it does Liam Gordon any favours though.
I would have certainly done that as momentum is very important in football and we have it at the moment.
Comley and Daniels out we could cope with (we have been most of the season) but the loss of Simkin and Gordon were factors in the reverse at MK so would we want to risk it again? OK, Hornby has shown he can step up to replace Simkin, but Weir seems way more suited to LCB than LWB so we would have to jiggle things a bit to accomodate someone else (Allen?) replacing Liam.
