Agree , I thought everyone had a better game yesterday except for our forwards …again
I know he wasn’t on the pitch very long before going off injured , but I thought Norman just looked to hoof it forward at every opportunity , we played much better when he was replaced.
That flat share with Clarke must be really awkward at the moment. I mean if it is to be believed, Dutton disagreed with the following over the last 18 months:
Player recruitment
Playing style/identity
Fitness coaching
That’s appears to be the consensus from the 3 weeks of him in charge. Makes you wonder why he followed him from Salisbury, to Bristol River and the to us? He must have really burned that bridge now! Or maybe he agreed with Clarke and therefore hasn’t inherited the squad like a newbie manager coming in, rather carrying on the shambles he was part of for 18 months.
On the point of putting so much faith and hope on the return of Holden, how long do you think it will be before he is sold off to the first league 1 team to show any interest?
I meant the improvement in the play. We missed Kinsella a lot. It isn’t just that he wins a lot of balls, with the set up yesterday, he was winning them in the Cambridge half and that allowed us to threaten without their defence being fully organised. In the last three matches without him, we were trying to build from the back (or in the case of Cheltenham, hoof it) and never managed to unpick the defence. Yesterday, we had any number of attacks that could have led to goals.
I agree about White. I think he has improved considerably and is now much more effective when he gets forward.
Osadebe ( apart from the 93rd minute) had his best game for me. I was so annoyed that he didn’t hoof it upfield, but if nothing had come from the throw-in then none of us would remember it for more than half a second. I thought that there was a lot to take encouragement from the defence & midfield if we continue to play like that. And Roberts is looking more competent too. It’s upfront that I worry about. Gordon especially has gone backwards for me which is a real shame. I don’t know what his confidence is like now in front of goal.
One comment from their commentary amused me when Lavery was substituted ’ and they’ve brought on Mcdonald to tighten things up…’
Well nobody is as qualified as I am to answer that
I learned to ignore insults from people you don’t know and take things personally from people that don’t know you personally. Not to get dragged into just insulting, even if you get dragged into a debate (which I accept I do frequently, but hey, it’s a forum).
People reading this might not believe that but if you go back and look all you get is a “cool” or a yawn if you use an insult. It’s really not worth it.
I’ll always be forth right with my views and people get upset when I push them and that’s fair enough I guess. I don’t push them anymore than other people but I guess I have a reputation, a bit like a footballer known for diving because they did it before. And that’s fine. I’m confident that I stick to topic or at least the point somebody has raised, or like in this case a question that has been asked. If that gets me banned it gets me banned.
It annoys me I still get labelled a troll though. Hopefully the last few days have shown the difference between a troll and whatever I am (and hey if that’s arrogant, belligerent, ignorant, obstinate, well, sorry ). I always back my views up. I’m passionate about the club. And I’d have hoped over the last few years considering what I’ve been telling people over that time, that tag would have faded away but it looks like I’ll just have to keep on keeping on on that front.
So I would say it’s changed in some respects. I acknowledge, certainly on the old site, I’d be as guilty as anyone of using pointless, ridiculous insults and there just isn’t any point.
I apologise for annoying you in the past. I can’t promise to never annoy you again in the future, but hopefully at least you know my views and opinions are genuine and not because I’m just trying to “get a reaction” at least. I can understand why it hasn’t always appeared that way and hold my hands up to that.
