I’m sure he still wants to be part of a promotion this late in his career.
Yep. I’ve not seen anything other than commitment from DJ when he’s been given minutes. In fact, to me he’s looked sharper and fitter recently.
Yesterday, there were a few balls across the box (ironically before he came on), which he could well have got on the end of.
We’re always quiet
DJ is also fighting for a new contract, but I think the situation went a few words too far and maybe that’s why he’s not playing more mins. He has had similar problems in other teams, so there is some underlying problem probably.
If there’s any game to bring in some of the signings (like Chang?) - then surely playing bottom of the league is the game to do it? If not, when else?
I’d like to see Chang in - maybe he can bring in some energy and hold the ball a bit.
Good point. . He did ok there in the Vertu trophy games.
When DJ came on, all he cared about was getting in scoring positions and he was raging at Adomah not squaring it. I think mentally he’s ready and he showed a lot in that 12min cameo.
Obviously Sadz sees him everyday in training so will know him and the team much better than us. BUT for me id go:
Simkin
Asimwe Dave HW TA LG
JJ Stirk Lakin
Harrison DJ
I completely get that Sadz wants to try to get back to basics, but i hope we try something different. Barrat needs a rest; Osh was terrible on Sat; Jamma is brilliant but id wana get DJ in the mix - hes our best finisher and we need goals in this game.
we rarely get to see DJ with Jamma i think it would work, would also like to see Weir in the side his crossing is 2nd to none. maybe start him and Asimwe and bring Gordon and Barrett on 2nd half if needed and give them a breather. Would also like to see Wheatley back in the fold
Will be the same line up lets be honest
Completely forgot we’d got him.
I fear that Sads just does not see the value in shaking it up, he has “his trusted boys” and regardless of the urgency of the current situation he is fearful of change. That’s fine during a 9 game winning run but in our current state of flux we need something fresh. I would love to see Weir and Assimwe start (Barrett NEEDS a rest and Liam DESERVES a breather as he has been top drawer even during this run). Without question we need goals and we also lack pace of someone to get beyond defences. DJ may just bring the goals IF he is given long enough on the pitch with someone who can cross the ball (Weir and Adomah, maybe even Assimwe as we just don’t know what he has got yet). The pace may be Wheatley, zero point in signing him if you don’t persist (Levi is not the answer imo)… Jamma and/or Harrison off the bench could be a Weapon. In midfield must be Lakin, Jellis and Stirk (Coms n Osh to swap out to freshen up with 20 to go if needed) … so many options just need Sads to wake up and smell the fear of the play offs and use some of them.
Week up in the lakes for us, hopefully not spoiled by the football.
Hopefully a 2-1 win, Jellis and Adomah late on after Carlisle lead early on.
Sadly, I will miss the game tomorrow (first one of the season) due to a medical procedure.
We’re in must win territory now, we just can’t afford to drop points against clubs who, on paper, we’re supposed to get maximum points from.
MS has to change players around a little. Barrett needs a rest, Harry replaces Dave and Lakin in for Stirk.
Sadler won’t start DJ, so Jamma and Harrison up top. The manager has been selecting the same side now for weeks, we’ve won two out of nine, surely he can see it’s not working. it’s worrying how stubborn he is, it will cost us if it continues.
Good luck lads!

We’ve only got 4 points more than them over the past 10 games…
Carlisle and Walsall are both averaging a point a game in League Two over the last six weeks. There is no reason to think that we are favourites.
There is reason to think Carlisle are favourites with a new manager and the sniff of safety. I will be amazed (though pleased) at anything other than a Carlisle win.
Apart from the fact that we’re top and they’re bottom.
It’s the 1973 Grand National all over again. We are Crisp - we’ve had a massive lead, but now we are blowing out of our arse and being overhauled by Bradford, doing their best Red Rum impression! Let’s hope we can get a second wind!!
Absolutely no excuses tomorrow anything other than a win is awful, we are top, they are bottom, we have to go there and show why we are top, but if I’m honest I fear another drab defeat, I hope I’m proved wrong, the heat has been turned up by the chasing pack and we desperately need a swaggering performance to steady the ship, Changes to the lineup are hopefully made but I have a feeling Sadler sticks and doesn’t twist, we shall see, I’m hard to please because I want the title and not just scrape through, if we fall into the playoffs I fear the worst and it will be a collapse that would register on the richter scale.
Our form before Nathan Lowe left is irrelevant, since he is not going to be available against Carlisle. We have reverted to our long term average level of play at this level over the past six years.
The league table is based only on matches played this season, but over the last nine matches we have been playing like we have done in the majority of games since we came down to this level in 2019 - playing just about well enough to avoid relegation to non-League.
