I agree BUT we have had a good relationship with Stoke recently, we dont want to burn our bridges.
I thought Stirk did well when he came on and was an improvement over Brandon Comley. A couple of his reverse balls in the second half opened Charlton up down the wings, but we couldn’t take advantage.
What was frustrating however, was the number of times we failed to keep possession. The flicks and tricks and glanced headers were simply giving the ball away all of the time and has Sadler said Charlton were winning all of the second balls.
The Simkin criticism is way over the top in my opinion. While he was at fault for the third, he made some excellent saves and his handling, particularly in the first half, was immaculate. Blaming him for the opener is crazy.
Is there a problem with Simkin though?
Last week he kept a clean sheet, had his best game for us and got into EFL TOTW.
Haven’t saw the goals back, but don’t feel like he was at fault for any of the goals yesterday.
Yesterday was just Simkin’s third loss of the season in all competitions for club and country in 24 games
He’s conceded just 24 goals in that time and nearly half of them were in two games.
He is young and is learning his trade. This shouldnt mean he has a free pass when it comes to highlighting areas he needs to improve on though.
Things such as trying to Cruyff turn an attacker, picking up a back pass, miss punching the ball, coming out for a cross and missing it by about 5ft (Morecambe).
He will make a good keeper in the future. We also have a keeper not getting minutes who looks half decent. I would like him to have minutes and see if he can claim the number one spot for next term. Continuity.
I’d watch the 3rd again
He was responsible for just the one.
Yep agree, however sometimes you do need to overpower your opponents.
Tuesday night we continually got bullied by physical strikers.
The likes of Roper were amazing dragging us through games, because physically they were just on it for 90 minutes. Taylor Allen where good on the ball, loses a lot of battles.
I personally thought McEntee had a solid enough game
It looks like Simkin is good at stopping shots, but loses it when the ball is played higher. A big defender would be a good precaution. There were some communication problems, but probably the higher intensity killed some players. I doubt this will happen in the league, so no need to panic too seriously.
If Sadler is such a good coach, why does he continue to play Albert Adomah in a role that he is clearly unable to perform well? It is bad enough when he brings him on as a substitute in that role, but to start Adomah as a striker against Charlton was simply inept.
We beat Exeter, huddersfield and Bolton with Albert starting up front.
Drew with Leicester.
I like that, the Exeter game counts as a win, and the Leicester one is a draw
We won games with Timmy Abraham playing for us but I wouldn’t want him starting up front for us.
Sadler lives and dies by his decisions, I am just a fan observing, to me it doesn’t really work well.
Also those games you mentioned we scored goals in the latter stages of the game, where he probably wasn’t on the pitch ( I can’t remember for sure) I am sure one of the games he was actually moved out wide after some subs if I remember rightly, where he looks more effective in my opinion.
I just stated a fact (ok bit cheeky claiming Exeter was a win )
Just a bit peeved Sadler is called ‘inept’
Seems clear playing Albert up front is to give Jamma rest.
Personally would prefer someone else up front too.
I wasn’t getting involved with that about Sadler just to be clear.
We lost a game and bosh1/2 the teams suddenly become rubbish and the manager’s inept.
Lets warm up the Saddler out thread. After all another draw on Tuesday and it’ll be the beginning of the end for some.
That made me laugh.
There’s definitely a problem on here sometimes with misinterpretation .I mean I see a man chilling out on his bike here .
Your dislike for Sadler wears a very thin veil, Ber-nard
Call me old but that is one photo I can’t work out , what is going on.
There’s 2 people on the bike. A man leaning backwards and a woman leaning forward.
