Cheltenham Town (A) Feb 25th, 7.45pm kick-off

Do you mean we would have lost against other sides? I thought we looked a lot more dominant than Cheltenham over the course of the game. They didn’t open us up much at all and our midfield, with Comley especially looked pretty much the match for them.

I agree in this game ref Levi but thought he did all those things you mentioned well against Morecambe and Chesterfield (albeit limited in time).

Nothing?! We have both seen him live then and I’d disagree he offers nothing, I think it could be premature to right him off already.

I do hope (and I’m sure you do) you’ll be proven wrong by this time next year.

They were asking questions all night. Dropping balls over the back of us. Crosses. Set plays. I felt we’d concede. Felt inevitable especially as we tired. Another 2/3 mins they’d have grabbed a winner.

Can’t dress that up as a good performance. Call it poor management / game management.

Agree. Lakin in for Stirk.
Crazy how Comley has been sidelined all season.

No we weren’t :joy:

Limited them to two direct free kicks in 89 minutes.

They kept going long, but defensively we kept them at arms length.

Midfield was brilliant and the change in shape bringing Comley in the last two games has made us look better.

Really excited for Saturday now, those players will be ruthless after dropping points tonight. If we can maintain that performance for our remaining games we will win the league. A few more smart subs and rotate a few more throughout the game and we will be fine.

Jamma looked a little leggy tonight. Hope he can recover well for Saturday.

Should be a cracking game! Hope we can keep driving the players through, less ‘motivational hate’ towards Simkin on Twitter would be nice :+1:

I was thinking why Sadler didn’t bring someone on to waste time after their first goal.

He needs to be more tactically wise.

I am not confident at the moment. Other teams are catching up.

Mind the gap it is getting thinner now.

I wouldn’t want to be in a playoff position.

On Saturday I go for Allen, Williams and Mcentee at the back.

So just drop Dave? Keep the rest of the squad the same?

Might be time for Williams, Dave hasn’t done much wrong though, I’d consider Lakin for Stirk and retain Comley… Then bring JJ off for Stirk at 60 mins…

I haven’t seen it back, but he was probably knackered. He was at least two levels better than anyone else on the pitch tonight, you can see why we struggled when he was out and then not well. The amount of ground he covered tonight is insane.

That’s a good team performance as far as I am concerned, gutted how it ended, but that’s football, especially following Walsall.

Just got back and I couldn’t help thinking that Sadler could have managed that injury time better.

They score and I think we need to wait for first break in play after kick off. Sub Jellis and Gordon who both ran their socks off for Lakin and Weir. They trudge off slowly. Applaud the fans, we sing back. It just takes the sting out and rests some legs and minds.

Can’t fault the players who gave their all tonight.

I would have 100% taken a point at the start tonight but it really does feel like a defeat. We have the opportunity to get a win at home on Saturday now, let’s keep getting behind the team! UTS!!!

Same. Just got home. Absolutely gutted at the end.

They were shite, didnt offer anything all game.

But in a way thats why we love football, its not over till its over. Id have taken a point before hand, but a gut punch.

Ref and lino on our side was absolute tosh. No free kick to them and it was taken 10 meters away from where it should have been. But is what it is.

We go again.

He can’t. He’s a massive spunk-trumpet.

A point’s a point. Feels like two dropped not one won, but that’s timing for you. Gutted for the lads.

The magnetism of football is you never know what’s going to happen.
That’s why we keep going back.

I dunno, still no need for a lazy block like that tired or not. I’m not sure he was “levels above” either. I thought Stirk had the much better game in our own midfield.

Flynn comments… You really get the sense getting sacked at Walsall hurt him especially based on those comments.

He doesn’t really make much of a fuss of Swindon Town…
