Chunky

Saw the thread title and feared the worst. Never met him but he seemed like a good 'un. A Chunkless UTS won’t quite be the same.

Terrible news and a big shock I’ve exchanged messages with him a fair few times over the last few years wasn’t expecting this news really nice guy .

We’ve lost a good ‘un , the world is so unfair.
Was at school with Chunky, year below. He was a key core member of the Chasetown Brownhills double decker supporters club back in the good old days

RIP fella, enjoy the promotion from up there

Like lots of you I never met Chunkster, but like all of you I got the feeling he was a top bloke. His relentless quest to entertain us with his banter and his never ending supply of anecdotes was the perfect antidote to the few who wanted to spoil it for everyone. I’m gutted- I dread to feel how his loved ones must feel.

Very sad to read this.

I never met Chunkster in person at a game but always enjoyed reading his posts on here over the last decade and his tales of shall we say “meeting up with rival fans” in the 80s!

Didn’t actually realise he was seriously ill as it’s only now I realise I hadn’t seen him posting for many months.

Certainly one of the characters of UTS in my time posting here.

R.I.P.

RIP Chunk. Would have loved to have met you, but the genuine humour and humanity you showed on this message board said so much for you.

A larger than life character who was one of the absolute top contributors to this board. He seemed to have an entertaining story for every occasion.

I had the pleasure of meeting him several times at the Railway Club. An absolute gent.

Without doubt one of the top posters on here.

It has knocked me sick hearing this news.

RIP Chunkster.

Fuckin hell
I’ve just got back home after travelling all day. I’m stunned.
I was chatting with him last week and as always he was being positive.
After Saturday’s the game I asked Nick @RedandWhite what the score was. He was welling up and I thought he knew things were worse than Chunk was letting on.
What terrible news. A great guy, a family man and a Walsall legend who will be missed by many.
Thoughts are with San and the family
RIP mucka🥲

Such awful news. I never met Chunkster, but only 3 or 4 weeks ago, we did exchange messages about my own, relatively trivial health issues. Despite the obviously horrendous experiences he was going through, he took time to give me invaluable advice and moral support, delivered with his trademark good humour. Although saddened myself, I can only imagine what those close to him must be going through. Such a loss to the whole UTS family.

I never knew chunkster but he came across as a fantastic bloke! I will never get on another thread when I was going through personal struggles, his empathy was always there and so genuinely heartfelt. This is such sad news and my thoughts are with all chunkys friends and family. RIP mate
