Tesco have a 2 for 1 offer on tissues mate after the game. You could pick a few boxes up on your way home. League 2 for you lot next season so enjoy the ■■■■ grounds even worst than your own, ■■■■ pitches and the worst football you will ever see
You have only sold 500 tickets pal. ■■■■ poor turn out for a game down the road
Oh how the mighty city have fallen.
Coming on here making out your the ■■■■■■■■ and talking it big about beating little old Walsall , which by the way you have failed to do so so far already so even if you manage to pull a one off shock result against us just ask yourselves how many EX Walsall employees have you had to have to do it ?? on the pitch and off .
Not such the big ■■■■■■■ club after all you think you are so ■■■■ off on your own ■■■■■■ little sad forum
league 2 is your level pal. Cant wait to see you lot crying.
This forum is a joke. Never seen so many so called fans moaning and giving up. You lot dont deserve to stay up.
■■■■ poor tin pot club living in the smog of the m6. Lovely
I suppose you’re an expert on league 2 seeing as you’ve been there so recently. No wonder walsall is a massive derby seeing as recent history shows us as a team that’s finished above you for the last 6 seasons
Nice to see the ‘M6 classico’ LOL having so much attention in Coventry schools these days. Did you get to make a poster and present to the class?
You would know about the tissue deal seeing as you’re a massive w*****r
I think as someone has illuded to on this or another thread we need to just get ourselves an ugly win today. I think I’ve made my preferred formation clear on other threads but without reinventing the wheel I think we should tweak what we’re currently doing.
The side I think Keates will pick today is:
Roberts
Devlin Scarr Fitzwater Leahy
Ismail Osbourne Edwards Jarvis
Cook Oteh
Personally, I’d like to see Edwards on the right and Kinsella in the middle. From what I’ve seen of Keates team selections of late and with the signings of Scarr and Norman, he’s looking for big strong players in the side. I think this is why Osbourne is playing in the centre. If we play Edwards and Kinsella either side of him then they can nullify his weaknesses and vice versus, which will balance out the side.
This leads me onto the style of play. What bothers me most about this side is that they’re so reactionary, there never seems to be a plan of if x gets the ball I should be here, instead we rely on the player with the ball the make the decisions, this of course slows us and our decision making down. Its as Whitney used to say “triggers” and for example. When the centre half gets the ball the right back should be looking to advance wider and higher to create width, when he receives it the winger should already have chalk on his boots, the CM should be going over to the winger to receive the ball with the full back making a 3rd man run around the back of the winger to receive a ball down the line. It’s an example but it’s more flowing football and it has to be done at pace. Pace being the optimum word as this is what we lack. We don’t move the ball quick enough and we allow the opposition to set up their defensive shape, and I imagine the team talk for the opposition is to get in our faces as we lack the technical quality to move the ball. In my opinion when Dobson is fit, he is in the side regardless of form
For me, as much as the defence gets the blame for conceding goals, I believe it to be our inability to have spells of possession and restricting the opposition to chasing. If they don’t have the ball they can’t score. If this means going backwards then so be it as at least they don’t have the ball. We need to get comfortable with 5-10 passes moving from left to right at pace and probing opportunities down each wing.
This leads me to when we’re attacking, Keates likes us to attack wings and that’s justified, I’d just like to see more movement in the box. We all know when Jarvis is shaping up to cross, he does his trick and gets to the byline, that the trigger, why can’t we shape up where Oteh attacks the front post, the opposing winger makes a run across Cook to the middle of the goal and Cook drags out to the back post with one of the centre midfield players also attacking the centre of the box, we tend to hit the back post with crosses and Cook either has a chance of a goal or a knock down. Again just an example but it’s more about setting up to move and being proactive. I’d also like to vary up the crossing and not try to hit cook every time, we should drop a couple of crosses short, give the opposition something else to think about. Make them think we have more strings to our bow so to speak.
Then substitutions, Keates should already have an idea of his subs. He should be saying to the wingers, 60 mins and one of you is off. If we’re losing an Ismail type on to replace the more defensive winger (Edwards) or if we’re winning on to replace Jarvis. Same with a CM replacement but we haven’t got another one in the squad.
It’s just a couple of things I’d like to see more of. Rather than just hitting long.
