Same here - struggling to get the crowd stats

I noticed the scoreboard went off with about 20 mins to go, so I didn’t know how much time was left and as far as I am aware they didn’t announce anything other than to stay off the pitch, not even how much injury time.

We scored plenty of goals with Josh Gordon in the side it’s just Josh Gordon doesn’t score himself, but he is part of the reasons why they happen.

I don’t know why this is such a sticking point. It’s like it’s hardwired into everyone’s brains that if you are ‘up front’you HAVE to score goals.Surely all that matters is that the team scores.

Don’t think they helped the lad who was clearly struggling up front on his own. He wasn’t very good, but chucking him up there on his own was another daft roll of the dice at the wrong time.

Don’t think that’s case, everyone understands the concept of a supporting striker. What you do need from a secondary forward, for all their other good work and link play, is that when opportunities fall to them they have the instinct to finish. JG doesn’t have that.

Yeah I wouldn’t argue with that. He looked like he couldn’t be arsed but he was being asked to do something that he wasn’t capable of.

I made the mistake of watching it and it only made me feel worse! Speculative, weak punt at goal, hit a player (possibly in an offside position) and completely changed direction and wrong footed the goalkeeper. Bradford had more luck in that single shot than we’ve had all season!

The 3 5 2 system of the hard press and get it to the wingbacks is done. The players don’t have the energy for it anymore. The new system of 2 no.10s and one forward is dying on it’s arse because we don’t have that one forward who suits that system. The closest is maybe Harrison but he hasn’t looked anywhere near since his injury. Matt can do about 20 minutes. God knows if Wheatley is capable. D J won’t be match fit enough neither will Josh Gordon and we can safely say Levi is better suited to 10 minutes chaos off the bench.
Mess!

I think it’s a bit of a myth that we scored plenty of goals when JG was in the side. In the 8 league games he has played in this season we have scored 14 goals, he was on the pitch for 5 of them. So we scored 9 when he wasn’t.

We have to stop feeling unlucky. We have had absolutely loads of it.
All the chasing pack have been mostly shit and should have put us to bed weeks ago.
Then off the top of my head in matches we have had loads. Barretts scuffed shot going in off Jammas chest vs Gillingham. Barretts scuffed shot being hammered home by the Harrogate defender. McGoldricks “equaliser” given offside when he looked on.
We have chucked automatic promotion and it is all of the clubs own doing.

I actually thought he was better in League 1, not least because he didn’t used to break up momentum by giving away needless fouls.

He played a few games as a lone striker when Andy Cook was suspended and played well. He kept his place for the Barnsley home game, where I thought his movement that day was superb, run them ragged. Couldn’t hit a barn door still but if his movement was anything like that now he would be more worthy of a starting place. He is obviously a lot older now and just doesn’t offer a lot other than chasing shadows, unfortunately.

I thought he showed real promise at times that season. He might have benefited from playing alongside Cook.

After going through every emotion possible yesterday I’m finally back to a level playing field.

What i will say is despite how bad the last 3 months have been. My lad has experienced some absolutely immense atmospheres/matches and intense lows for the first time in the 5 years hes fully been following walsall and we have together created memories that will last a lifetime. And what could possibly end with a visit to Wembley. Is this not what football is all about?

One thing i know for sure is this season has made him a Saddler for life he now as Walsall running through his veins. I know i certainly didnt start supporting Walsall for the success and endless trophies its runs in our family and its also the highs and lows the range of emotion it brings out in you.

Me and my lad are excited for the play offs and the chance to go to Wembley now the pain of yesterday is subsiding.

UTS.

Spot on. Sadler has finally found a new system but missing they key player in it as he doesnt have anyone who can play the lone striker roll

At this point I’d just rather Hall start. Can’t see him playing Hall and two strikers at Chesterfield but I really don’t want to see two targetmen who can’t run and then whole load of DMs 30 yards from them so it’s all about getting the balance right.

Can’t see the CF in a week’s time being anyone but Matt.

It wasn’t as painful to watch Matt yesterday as it has been for a while now. We played more balls into his feet and body.

He looked like he was completely shot after a bout 15 minutes of being on though, I’m not sure he can play more than 45 minutes, whether that is the first or second half.

Hopefully both Hall and Chang can now last the 90 minutes

He might also have benefited from Ferrier, whose main " contributions " were the pointless runs, with and without the ball that Gordon now seems to have as his main role.

He did well in that run in. It was six years ago though not six months.

Thought he’d do really well in league 2 and then in 19/20 we got to the December and he’d only scored one goal.

I think the biggest issues regardless of whether people rate his ability is he’s featured in five games since end of August. No games since Feb 11th. People can’t seriously think you should just start a guy in the play offs who hasn’t played for three months.

It reminds me of chucking Daniels back in for Franchise away after a few months out and he was miles off it and at fault for a couple of goals that day.
