The game itself has been understandably overshadowed by the circumstances but we played pretty well. Asiimwe, Allen, Okagbue, Stirk and, particularly, George Hall were super. George Hall is really finding his feet and looked very dangerous. Simkin has suddenly become imperious, too.
The Crewe left wing back looked one of the best players I have seen this year in League 2.
Positives from yesterday-the support was immense, great atmosphere and no negativity. The togetherness was back,Hall,Asimwe,Simkin,Williams,Stirk and Allen were superb,At the end Lakin and especially Liam Gordon showed how much it hurt and showed they really care.
Negative was no firepower and the 97th min heartache.
All youâre saying there is we scored goals with Nathan Lowe in the side. Total misrepresentation of the point I made.
The original post was concerned with Josh Gordon scoring, Iâm saying it doesnât matter because the team scores goals when JG plays The evidence is there from last season, from the first bit of this season and the couple of games he started in 2025.
. Iâm not saying the only way to score is with JG in the side,I would prefer Nathan Lowe or George Hall any day of the week . I am saying tobe against Josh Gordon because he doesnât score goals is short sighted.
With his injury record it dies seem to be a signing that hasnât paid off. He might still play a part in the play offs though, although potential savior is pushing it.
You literally said that we scored plenty of goals with JG in the side. This was essentially saying despite JG not scoring the team were, presumably because of his contributions.
So letâs have a look at last season. We scored 40 goals in 25 league games before JG joined, averaging 1.6 goals per game.
Post JG joining in the Jan, when he was involved in every league game we scored 30 goals in 21 games, so it reduced to 1.42 goals per game.
Like I say, our ability to score goals isnât aided by him, if anything it is hindered and we score more without him.
Sadler wonât go for it Sunday you just know its going to be about 8 defensive minded players out of 10 outfield heâll probably bring Mcentee back in for a start.
Went yesterday and obviously gutted at the end. However, it was a fab day in general (even considering the late Bradford goal) and I thought we played well against a limited Crewe side.
I just hope the players can get themselves up for the playoffs now. One of my Villa supporting friends met Jamie Jellis on the train after the game and sent me thisâŚ
