Crewe Alexandra (A) May 3rd, 3pm

Josh Gordon is better than Levi and Harrison, I don’t rate him but he will offer more.

If we had 2,300 there then I would estimate the attendance to be around 5k.

True if we can come back here still in the tie that would do me.

That is usually my reaction. I have temper tantrums and work myself up so much i feel physically sick. My usual way of torturing myself when not at a game is to watch the match via UTS continually refreshing like Ceefax. This time though i decided to head off to Aberdyfi beach with Mrs VR so i could pleasure myself on the beach with UTS.

My defining moment i think was Vale. I felt ill. Accrington i was just numb. Then i lost all hope and my coping mechanism kicked in and WFC came a thing that caused me so much stress and mental anguish i had to remove it from my life (temporarily onviously).

So, im sitting on the beach and gradually start getting excited. I tell Mrs VR we are 4 minutes from promotion. I even show her the sKy Sports league table even tbough she has no idea what shes looking at. On 90 minutes i declare "weve only f@cking done it, oh my days, i dont believe it. How long is left she says? Just injury time i declare and she retorts “still time go mess it up then”. Dont be so bloody ridiculous i respond, why cant you ever be happy for me.

Then the hammer blow. Posters on UTS announce a Bradford goal. Texts start coming through from family and friends. One of them a dingle wanker!

As i had already accepted failure was inevitable the hurt was less. I didnt feel physically sick just gobsmacked and numb how it was snatched away from us.

Not sure why ive rambled on. My coping mechanism again, i guess.

I also was receiving videos from West Brom fans who was in their Wetherspoons in West Brom and the place went up with celebrations when Bradford scored and very similar from a few wolves fans who also sent me videos of the pubs they was in, in wolvo who was all jumping around. They claim nobody cares about walsall yet both are 2/3 divisions higher and unlikely to play us in the next 100 years but they’re still obsessed. Why I will always hate both over vale, Shrewsbury etc.

Did you have a stiffy at Aberdyfi?

Villa will always be my number one dislike. I don’t hate any of them, they don’t get the satisfaction of that. Wolves are high on the list too, especially living in Cannock for over 15 years.

Albion go under the radar a bit. I never minded them too much when I was younger, they have some special fans though. My dislike started with them when we played them quite a bit in the late 90s early 2000s, when they started coming to Walsall Town and smashing the place up, and the one game groups of them picking on random individual Walsall fans on the way out.

Then I married someone from an Albion family. She said to me, “if we have kids, they will support Albion” ask her how that worked out  She is a fully converted Walsall fan now. She doesn’t come to many games now but she used to come quite a bit. She was converted instantly after her first away day with us, no turning back.

Regarding this weekend, I’m not bothered what the other fans think, the hurt is internal, external noise isn’t even getting in.

Thought you’d been banned from going within 500yards of the beach for doing this before Al.:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Or, as non-Welsh speakers would say, a stiffy at Aberdiffy.

Aberdovey in English surely.

Self-lovey in Aberdovey?

You’ll definitely find litter in Barmouth at certain times of the day, but whoever keeps the streets clean is doing a fantastic job - it’s suddenly spotless again soon after.

Really want to go to a game there, it’s a tiny little stadium with the most breathtaking backdrop.

Lovely place caravan with sea view watching the sun set with a cold :beer_mug:
